Dear John,
My grandfather John Rapach came from the town Lisko, which is the German spelling, because that was Austria-Hungary, at the time. After WWI, Poland was a country again, and the name was changed to Lesko, which is the Polish spelling. The nationalities, in my area that came from Galicia (the province name) are Polish, Ukrainian, German, Russians, Slovaks, and Jews. You have to realize, there was no Checkoslovakia at that time either. Galicia was, what is now, south eastern Poland, western Ukraine, Slovakia, Moravia, and nothern Hungary. Got to close now.

p.s. My grandfather changed his name to Roberts for economic reasons.
