Henry M. Ratajczak, 77,
of Summit Township, Erie,co,pa,
died Friday evening August 6, 2010 at his residence following a lengthy illness. A resident of Erie all of his life he was born on July 6, 1933 a son of the late Henry and Helen Grabowski Ratajczak. Henry was a boilermaker with Local #744 along with many other unions across the country for over 20 years before retiring in 1995. Previously he worked at National Forge and Riley Stoker. He served in the United States Army and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a life member of the Siebenbuerger Club. He loved boating, fishing, casinos and card playing. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Fratus Ratajczak. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Annette Drosdick Blumish Ratajczak; one son, Michael Ratajczak and his wife Della; Theresa O'Connell and her husband Steve; two stepsons, Brian Blumish and his companion Cindi Beerbower and Gregory Blumish; one brother, Joe Ratajczak and his wife Stella; one sister Vicki Nehrebechi and her husband Michael, all of Erie; four grandchildren, Derek Ratajczak, Lindsay Ratajczak Damore and her husband Michael, Anthony Ratajczak; and Stephen O'Connell; one great grandson, Ayden Ratajczak; and his Poodle, Jackpot, who also enjoyed boating and fishing with him. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
