John have had a brother named Luther Ravenscroft, Luther is buried also at Dawson Cemetery in Allegany Co., Md. not far from other Dawsons and Ravenscroft members. Luther was born 1834 and died in 1908. His wife was Mary M. Dayton Ravenscroft and she was born 1840 and died 1914. Also a possible relative to John who is buried also at same cemetery is Mae R. Ravenscroft McKenzie, she was born 1878 and died 19457 and was wife of Alden McKenzie (died 1904 at age of 32).
Another relation possibly to John was Mary Frances (Ravenscroft) Robinson, born May 30, 1862 and died Oct. 23, 1910 (she was wife of J.W. Robinson and before him she was married to a Unknown Waxler).
Children buried near Mary Frances Robinson and her Husband J.W. (born Feb. 5,1868 and died Nov. 2, 1942) were Blanche Pearl Robinson, born 1894 and died in 1971 and other child was J. Clifford Robinson born 1900 and died in 1938. Another Ravenscroft found buried at Dawson cemetery was Roland D. Ravenscroft who was born Oct. 7, 1842 and died April 29, 1922.
His wife was Martha E. McGowan Ravenscroft and she was born Sept. 9, 1844 and died March 3, 1921.Other Ravenscroft burials found at Dayton Cemetery, located off Route 220 in South Allegany Co., Md. opposite of Keyser, WV. Here is what was found there: Elizabeth L. Ravenscroft born 1855 and died 1932 wife of Thomas E. Ravenscroft and her maiden name was Dayton. Thomas E. Ravenscroft born 1847 and died 1912. Daughter of Thomas and Eliz. Ravenscroft was Nannie E., Lucy F. died May 21, 1890 age 4 mos. 3 days, Ashford died May 30, 1897 (male). Also found in cemetery was C. W. Ravenscroft, S.A. Ravenscroft, Son Wilbert A. Ravenscroft born March 30, 1887 and died Nov. 16, 1907 age 20 yrs, 7 mos., 15 days.

Another grave site at Dayton Cemetery was Daisy D. (Crabtree) Ravenscroft wife of Abraham born Jan. 18, 1879 and died Dec. 2, 1898.
Estle D. son of Abraham and Daisy May 6, 1898 and died Aug. 26, 1898.
No grave found for CS Ravenscroft but his wife is there in Dayton Cemetery,
she was Louisa (Dayton) Ravenscroft and she was born March 14, 1832 and died May 11, 1905.
Child of CS and Louisa Ravenscroft was H. W. and he was born in 1856
and died in 1924. Son of CS and Louisa also was Edward D. died on
Dec. 16, 1898 at age of 26 years and 7 mos. and 5 days.
Another child of CS and Louisa was S.E. 1867-1903 and one more child
was S. A. 1858-1935.

Witnesses were Luke Marbury who was William's brother in law and Peter Dent.
William's son William's will was posted Feb. 2, 1804.
Thomas Dawson was the executor of the William Jr.'s will.
Another will for William Dawson was posted Sept. 14, 1824 with wife Hannah as executor
and children listed under this William were William, Theodorus, Nancy (married to William Ravenscroft),
Elizabeth (Marriage to Charles Patterson) and Mary (married to Cornelius Kight).
William and Elizabeth's son Thomas's daughter named Mary had married William's son
James's Son named Abraham.
Lawrence stayed in Prince George County, Md. and Benjamin married to Mary Simmons.

1. I direct that my debts and funeral charges be paid and that the places of my interment be suyitable marked……………...
2. I authorize and direct my 4 cents herein after named to sell in his discretions the farms where on George W. Dayton now resides in said County, and convert the land into money and then I give one third of said money to my daughter Matilda Poland, one other third there of I give to the children of my descend? daughter Isabella Crabtree and the other one third I give to the children of my deceased?

LOCATION: 1 mile south of Long Stretch U.S. Route 40 5 miles west of Frostburg.
Turn south on Old Frostburg Road go on the Road till it makes a fork, about 3/4 of a mile and take
the right fork ….That is the Old Braddock Trail) then proceed about 200 yards and take the right fork again
and you are there…..This Cemetery is located in a very large field with a tremendous view southward.
It is well kept and on top of a hill and is where 2 soldiers were killed who was part of Braddock's Army.
hey were the first casualties of the well-famed march. The Indians ambushed and killed them.
