Yes, poor Plimpton was killed in Atlanta, GA about three months after he married. My line goes thro' Samuel1,Thomas2,Eratus3, Eliakim4, Elzur5 Rawdon; his son Burton Freeman Rawdon was my great grandfather - married Clara Adell OLIN.I'm looking for information on Guy RAWDON, Burt's brother, b. 1862 in Windsor, Ashtabula, OH d. abt 1896 in NY or OH. Died 0f injuries caused by a "pumper" while fighting a fire. Married about 1890 and had 3 girls in NY: Lynn, Theo and Sadie. The girls were parceled out among the family - - BUT I can't seem to find out where Guy died. This is my major "brick wall"! Sure would be gratiful for any info.

Mark
Is Sean whom I met at his tavern your father??
If so I met a little girl who would be your sister
Michael is not my uncle but is a cousin of my father's.
The other Mark lives in Massachusetts and couldn't be a NYPD ??? I don't believe.
I was in Moville twice in my life 1976 and 2002.
My first visit I visited with Paddy Gill who worked with my father and my uncle on the NYC docks. He visited us many times when we were kids( I had 2 brothers) He took me to a bar in town and introduced me to people who grew up with my dad.

I visitef Pat's grave on my last visit at St Mary's church.
What shocked me on my 2002 visit is the great economy and money in Ireland as compared to 1976.

The first time I visitecd with my wife, whose parents were from Mayo. Last time my brother and I went for a last Hurrah and spent our time in Donegal and then Kilkenny my Mother's birthplace
Keep in touch I'm retired and spend a lot of time on the computer.Love to hear from you.
Jim Rawdon

I wonder if your Uncle Michael has ever heard of Tess Rawdon. My Forde family came from Co. Derry in Ireland and amongst their photos was a hand sketched "photo" of a woman and underneath is printed "TESS RAWDON"

I haven't been able to determine if the Rawdon family is connected to mine yet. I also haven't been able to find anyone who's heard of Tess Rawdon. (Tess can be short for Elizabeth or Theresa).

Just thought that if anyone out there connects to a Tess Rawdon they might like to have a copy of the picture.

Hi Folks!

There are also Rawdon descendants in Germany. My mother is Anne Rawdon from Killybegs, Donegal. Her father, Michael Rawdon, went to the US at the beginning of the 20th Century, met his future wife there and both returned to Ireland to live on a farm near Killybegs. There are still plenty of Rawdons living in the Killybegs area.

Does anyone have information that goes back further then 1880 about this line?

Best regards

Robert

Kelly, my grandfather was Milo Rawdon. My dad is his son, Daniel. I've communicated with Tom Curtis a while back, however, haven't given Tom all of the information about Milo that I can. I will try to get that together.

Milo had 6 children: Walter, Nellie, Dorothy, Velma, Bernice and Daniel. The only ones still living are Bernice and my dad (the baby).

Walter married Lillian Petersen and had 2 sons. Nellie married Forest Corwin and 1 daughter. Dorothy married Henry Harken and had 1 daughter. Velma married Ernest Ingalls and had 1 son and 2 daughters. Bernice had 2 daughters and 3 sons. My dad married Alma Jean Bryan on June 25, 1950 and had 1 son and 2 daughters.

I've got some forms I'm going to attempt to fill out to send to Tom some day. Perhaps I can get a copy to you as well.

I spent a week on Ohio a couple of years ago and took pictures of a number of Rawdon graves. There were quite a few around Windsor, OH.

I, also, have copies of marriage and death certificates for a number of ancestors.

I met a cousin (James Thomas) that has the "green book" of Rawdon history that he got from some of his Rawdon relatives. It has birth/death/marriage, etc. information from years and years ago. I'm hoping to get some more information from him. He has worked on our geneology as well. I believe that he and I had to go back about 4 or 5 generations to find a common ancestor.

Let me know if I can help or if you have information I might like.

Tracey, if your family is from the area around Jay, OK, have you thought they might be connected to the Cherokee Indian Nation?

Most of the people around that area are Cherokee. My Dad was Cherokee from AR and I have been to and through the area all of my life. They are a wonderful people and would help you find your family. Oklahoma has good records. You might go to GenForum, Oklahoma State and post there. Oklahomans are a very friendly, halpful people. Good Luck
