Classification: Query
Surnames: Ray/Henderson/McLaurin
Alfred married Elizabeth Henderson, daughter of John Henderson and Nancy McLearn (or McLaurin) in Jan, 1829. They had seven sons - John Alfred, Archibald Duncan, twins David Newton and Daniel Jasper, Hugh L, Alexander S., and Alfred H.

Alfred (Sr.) was killed in a dispute with a store owner in March 1839 in North Tuscaloosa, AL.

Elizabeth moved the family to northwestern Alabama in the mid 1840's. Oldest son John died as a POW in the Civil War and is buried in New Jersey. David (my g-grandfather) moved his family to Parker County, Texas in the mid-1880's. His brother Hugh L moved his family there in the early 1890's. Both are buried in Poolville, TX. Remainder of the family stayed in northwestern Alabama.

I've hit a brick wall with Alfred's father. Several trees on Ancestry.com show Bartlett Ray as Alfred's father, but I am skeptical - I've studied Bartlett some, and have found no son named Alfred.

Does anyone else have any info? Thanks...
