I am looking for information of the family of Thomas William Reagan. He was born in 1823 in Kentucky and died on Jan. 18, 1889 in Tipton County, Indiana. He married Phoebe Graham on March 2, 1843 in Switzerland County, Indiana. I am having no luck in locating his parents. I am descended from his oldest child Martha Ann Reagan who married Solomon Stephens. If anyone has any information on or any connection to this family I'd like to hear from you.

I have just started research the Reagan family. From the same area of Tennessee. Looking for information on a William H Reagan, left TN to fight in the Civil War (Union) came back and moved to Fla in early 1900's to take advantage of cheap land in Central Fla, near what is now Disney, offered to vets by the government. Suppose to have been kin to former President Reagans family back in Ireland. Any help would be appreciated to get me started in right direction.

Like most people, my family has a legend of being Cherokee. My GGgrandparents are Thomas Reagan and Harriet Mills Robert. They lived in Ocona Lufty, TN, which is the heart of the Eastern Cherokee. My line mixes with the Huskey line and I know many of the Huskey tried to apply for Cherokee Tribe citizenship, but where denied.

REAGAN, FOWLER, & SMITH FAMILIES IN WEAKLEY CO., TN

I am looking for descendants of Thomas M. Fowler b. <1792 NC and Mary B. ?? b. <1794 NC, died in Weakley Co. Their children included Hugh??, James A. <1832 TN, Maria, Sarah, and Coleman Sheridan Fowler b. 8-31-1836 TN.

James A. and Martha A. Yurbeville?? Fowler had 9 children---Elbert E., John S. ("Bud"?), Mary E., Henry C., James Wesley, Isaac A., Louisa E., Martha A., and Leona L.

In the late 1800's an ongoing feud between Fowler & Smith boys turned deadly. Two of James A.'s sons, "Bud" and Henry, were killed by two sons of Fletcher Smith (one named Tom??). They are all found on the 1880 Weakley Co. census, but by 1900 they are difficult to find. I finally found Martha A. Fowler in 1900 in St. Louis, MO living with sons James W. and Isaac A. and daughter Leona L., but haven't found anything after that. I would very much like to find more information on this family as well as any living descendants, and determine what is the connection between the Fowler, Smiths, and Reagans of Weakley Co.

I have a photo taken around 1900 that I believe to be James Wesley Fowler. I would like to confirm this, as well as to find out if any of the Fowler family had any injuries to or loss of any limbs. I would also like to find more information on the fight mentioned above. There was a trial in Weakley Co., and the two Smith boys were sent to prison. So far, I've been unable to locate court records of the case or newspaper articles about it.

Any help/info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jewel
Looking for information about the sisters of my g-grandfather Thomas Murphy. Thomas lived in Scottsville, NY, a small village southwest of Rochester. Family information says that he had four sisters, all born in Ireland who immigrated to the U.S. sometime in the mid 1800s. They were: Mrs. Redmond of Rochester, Mrs. Reagan, Mrs. Cassidy and Mrs. Boyle, all of Detroit. Do you know a Redmond of Rochester who married a Murphy or a Reagan, Cassidy or Boyle of Detroit who married a Murphy. Thomas also had brothers Philip and George His parents were Philip Murphy and Elisabeth Coleman of Clane, Co. Kildare. I have information about the families of Thomas, George and Philip.

Melton Reagan

I am seaching for information about the death/murder of my Grand Uncle, Melton Reagan. He was born on 17 Oct 1880 in Arkansas and died on 23 Aug 1901 in either Arkansas, Louisville Kentucky, or Harrison County, Indiana. He never married and never had any children.

His parents were Irvin H. Reagan and Pamelia Melton. I have been told (by his Nephew) that he was tied to a chair, thrown into a river and drowned. My Grandfather seemed to remember that it happened in Greenforest, Arkansas but he was living at the time in Louisville, Kentucky so it might have been there. Also, he traveled frequently to visit family in Harrison County, Indiana it is also possible that he was killed there. I would like to find out who killed him and why. Does anyone have any information about his death? Any help you could give would be wonderful.

Thank you,

Erika
erikakillen@hotmail.com

Anliza Reagan married Samuel Brown in 1872

I am looking for info on Anliza or Anlija Reagan (or possibly Ragon, Regan, Ragan) who was born in Mississippi and died in 1878 in Cabin Creek, Johnson Co, AR. Anliza is my "brick wall"--I can find no information other than her marriage record to Samuel Brown and I don't even know what her actual name was. The marriage record indicates her name was Anliza Ragon, but I suspect this might have been a misspelling of her surname. I would like to find out who her parents were and any other information that someone might have.

In 1872 she married Samuel Brown, son of Thomas & Isabella Brown of Ireland and had two children, Margaret Christine Brown (b. 5 Mar 1872), and Mary Brown (b. 9 Apr 1877). Margaret, who went by the name Christine, married James Porter Blount and died 28 Mar 1958. Mary married George Manley North. They had no children. Mary died 15 Jan 1963.

Anliza Reagan Brown died at a very young age and Samuel remarried to Virgia (or Mary Virgia) in 1892. The girls he had with Anliza were raised by their grandparents, Thomas & Isabella Brown. They had three girls, Virgia, Leeana, and Erma.

Any information is appreciated. You can email me at holly@hollywest.com.

Thank you,
Holly
