REAM, Jacob February 14, 1889
Jacob Ream an old gentleman residing in the west part of town, died at his home on Monday morning from a severe sore throat. He had been in poor health for a long time having suffered a light stroke of paralysis some time ago from which he never fully recovered. Funeral yesterday afternoon from the M. E. Church, services conducted by Rev. M. S. Marble.

Jacob Ream was born in Ohio April 28, 1817, and died in No. Manchester Indiana, February 11, 1889, aged 71 years, 9 months, and 13 days. Farming was his occupation. On December 28, 1838, he was married to Margaret Hall who died October 3, 1854. By this marriage there were six children, four of whom are living.
He was again married to Mariah Place on December 28, 1856, who died February 22, 1872. To them were born four children, three of whom are living. On January 18, 1877 he was married to Mrs. Susan Krieg who survives him. He moved from Ohio to Kosciusko County about the year 1840 and settled near Warsaw. After being there a short time he
moved to Fulton County, where he lived until 1877. He then moved to a farm about one mile southeast of North Manchester. Here he resided till 1883 when he moved to North Manchester where he lived till his decease.
Brother Ream was converted at the age of 17 and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church of which he remained a faithful and consistent member till death.
