I have just learned that my gggrandfather's parents were from England. The problem is...I don't know their names. They had a son named Elmer...born in 1790 in the USA. I believe they had not been in America long. Also, do not know of other children born to them.
I'm hoping that Elmer's parents kept in touch with family in England and that someone will recognize this family...and get in touch with me. Elmer was born in Connecticut, Vermont, or Rhode Island. Not sure because there are 3 US census reports that share that discrepancy. Elmer married Permelia Gould...possibly about 1820. An 1830 census shows Elmer and Permelia with 3 sons...one being born between 1821 and 1823. The others were born in 1824...twins, Elmer and John.
I know this is scanty information...but I don't know anything about Elmer Sr's parents...so I hope this will be enough information to help.
