Recently, while cleaning up the old abandoned River Hill/Riverside/County Home Cemetery in Madison County, North Carolina, we found an old gravestone (in great shape) lying flat on the ground and covered with weeds, leaves, and dirt. The stone reads:
ELIHU RECTOR.

Sept. 13th 1820:
died
Oct. 12th 1882:
aged
62 yrs. & 29 days.

Anyone connected? His wife was Sarah Roberts. Some of his children were Julius, Enoch, Vand. According to the 1880 Census, he was a hotel keeper in Marshall, NC.
