If you would like to e-mail me directly at wrjackson@cici.mb.ca, we can compare notes. I am thinking that you are a cousin. Was your great grandmother Amanda Klapprat? If so then your great grandmother and my grandmother were sisters.
I didn't realize Emil was his middle name, that may be why i can't seem to find any information on him. Could you send me his full name and any other information you have for him.
Thank you

Rae Jackson

I have some Reder relatives who are also in the Interlake. I didn't know my great-grandfather, but my great-grandmother's name was Paulina. And my Grandfather's middle name is Emil. I'm sure my Grandmother has more details. And the emigration timeframe seems about right.

Am trying to find relatives and information on Reder family. Cornelius b. abt. 1847 and Mary Reder b. abt. 1884 are on the 1880 Pitts. PA Census with children Annie, Eva, Katie and George. Census says Cornelius was born in Prussia and Mary was born in Austria. Thier son George Reder b. abt 1879 married Philemena (Minnie) Rottoff b. abt 1887 and had the children: Francis, NOrman, Arthur, Dorothy and George J. Reder b. 10-16-1911. This George J. Reder married Catherine(Katherine) Pearl Marie Spratt as first wife and had children George E.(my father), Dorothy, Norman and during a separation an adopted out daughter we have found. Then George J. divorced and married Anne Spehar in abt. 1947, during this marriage a affair brought about a child by Irene put up for adoption which we just found out about and have not found and has not found us. George J. divorced Anne and Married Irene. George J. Reder was my grandfather and Catherine(Katherine) Pearl Marie maiden name Spratt m. Reder, Recker, and Peteja was my grandmother. I am trying to find out more info on relatives. Would like more on where in Prussia and Austria Cornelius and Mary were from and any other details or stories to pass down to my family. Any and all help would be greatly appriciated.

Dear Sir: The post you read about the Reder Family was written my little half sister, Susan Bolin. My name is Lee Bolin, and like Susan said, my father's name was Charles Rader Bolin, Sr. I do have a good for nothing brother who also lives in St. Louis, MO., as well as I do, and his name is Charles Rader Bolin, Jr., but he never uses the name, he likes to be referred to as Charlie. Susan has been doing most of the work on the Reder Family, and I have been doing work on the Bolin family. My last pile of death notices has listed Ella G. Reder, born April 13, 1972 in Quincy, IL. and died on 12/29/1945 in St. Louis, MO. She was the mother of my grand mother, Dorthea Reder Bolin. Her parents are listed as Dr. Francis Rader, from Quincy, IL., yet her mother was listed as unknown. My great Grandfather, Charles D. Bolin, was 3/4 smart and 1/4 foolish. He made quite a some of money in St. Louis, but if you were to go to the public library, and look up the book W.K. Kellogg "The Original has his Signature", you will see on page 111, where is states that W.K. Kellogg had several conversations with a Charles D. Bolin, an insurance salesman from St. Louis, MO. and he figured he could raid enough capital in St. Louis to launch a new company, devoted to the manufacture and sales of corn flakes. Latter on, from what I hear, he thought that W.K. Kellogg was not much of an honest man, so he SOLD all his shares that he maintained to Kellogg’s Corn Flakes. Had he not done that, I most likely wouldn't be living off a pension of being a 100% service connected disabled veteran, which is nothing to be ashamed of, as I served my country well, but they don't pay that well. Feel free to fire away any questions you may have, as I live in St. Louis.

Sincerely,

Lee A. Bolin
brenleebolin@msn.com
636-458-9252
Just thought I would update my older posts. I am looking for information on August Reder (born June 1907 in Poland). His parents were August Reder and Augustine Fraehlich. He married a woman named Martha Pahl (nee Wilde, born 1906 in Poland) in the 1930's I think. Martha's parents were named Godfrey and Rose Wilde. Martha was previously married to a man named Gustave Pahl. But he died.
August Reder had two sisters that I know of. Albertina Reder born in 1899. Albertina married Louie Fuerst but then died in 1941. Another sister was Lydia Reder. Lydia later married August Kern.

So if anyone would happen to know anything about this family, please write to 'lyvram@canada.com'

We have identified one sister named JULIA ANNA. My great-grandmother's name was AMOLIA . Her parents names were August and Amelia Reder. On the 1900 census, they listed that they had 7children. AUGUST was born 1838 and Amelia was born in 1846. Their daughter's Julia Anna was born August 16, 1869 and Amolia was born August 2, 1877. Julia Anna married Ludwig Proppe and lived in Portland, Oregon and Amolia married Robert Meller and lived in Butte, North Dakota.

I would be delighted to hear from you.
Thank you Sharon Jesson

Would your father happen to be in Cliff Hill Cemetery? I know we have the same REDER family. My grandmother was Violet REDER Peterson, the younger half sister to your Ralph. She was born in Versailles, Indiana in 1917 and then her family moved to Cincinnati by 1920. Her are the names I have so far for the REDER children and the year they were born: Gracie 1891, Emmet 1896, Lena 1898, Vera about 1902, Leonard about 1905, Ralph about 1908, then by a different mother, Edwin 1915 and Violet 1917. I have more information on this family if you are interested. Do you know, who raised your father? I was just curious because the only one of the original children that was living with Edward (everybody's father)in 1920 was Vera with her husband.
Please email me, TheresaCappel@aol.com

Theresa Peterson Cappel of Cincinnati, Ohio

I also know he had brothers and sisters around the Custer, Rapid City, Hot Springs area. There is a Reder Ranger Station, there used to be a Reder Reservoir, and I know the Reder's started the first sawmill in the area. I only know one of my grandfather's sisters and her name was Lenore. If you have any information about his other siblings, his mother and father, Aunts, Uncles or cousins I would love to hear from you. Lori

John and Elanor Reder

I am researching my grandparents John and Elanor Reder formly of Chicago Illinois. My grandfather John Reder supposedly came to America from Noviscosia, sorry about the spelling. I have not been able to find any facts to back this up. My father told me that he migrated through California, however, to me that makes no sense. To come from Novisc. through Canada, to sail into California, then track all the way across the country to Chicago. My grandmother whom is still living does not speak good English, and is very hard to understand. I am not sure what dilect is her past language, but my father says it is German. My mother says that is not true. That my grandmother Elanor was born and raised in Chicago. Her family was very poor, and my grandmother is said to have little education. Elanor, and John had two children, John and Carol Reder born Chicago Illinois. I imagine near the Erie St. area. Any information would be so helpful.
P.S. I know about John Reder and Velma Reder's Children, as I am one of them. I am researching my grandfather, and his father.
Thank You
Angelique Reder

I am researching my great grandfather John Arthur Reder I born in Novascosia, married Elanor ?, believed to be from Germany, and fathered John Arthur Reder II born in Cook County Illinois, and Carol Reder believed to be born in Cook County Illinois.
John Arthur Reder I is believed to be the first of my Reder line to set foot on American soil, and came here in the early 1900's, believed to have traveled from his home land in Novascosia.
Any information on this Reder line would be so helpful.
Thanks.
Angelique Reder

My maiden name is Reder. My Grandfather was Michael Reder b. 1904, (married to Mary Lantz in 1936). My grandfather had several brothers and sisters. Emil, George, (Theresa and Catherine sisters or by marriage? not sure), that I recall. Michael Reder lived in Akron Ohio. I believe he was adopted as a child, with at least one other brother, when his mother married a Reder. It would appear there may be a link to others in this thread, please respond if you have any connecting information. Thanks
