My ggggrandmother was Ann Redfield b. about 1790. and married to Williams Stokes b. 1770 in St. Bartholomews Parish, Colleton, South Carolina. Though Ann was born in SC, my great-aunt's letters state that Ann Redfield's parents were from "up North". Has anyone come across a family of Redfields that moved South? There simply ARE no Redfields anywhere in the area these people lived though there are remnants of many of my other family lines still in the area.
