My mother was Mary Lou Davis Morgan (d. 1975), she left New Iberia in the 50's and settled in Houston, TX. She and my aunt, Selena Davis Harris (d. 2002) often talked of your mother. My Uncle, John Davis (we call him Uncle Bear) still resides in New Iberia and was a good friend of your father. On my grandma's side of the family, I went all the way back to where they (her and her 3 siblings) were born on Oaklawn Plantation in St. Mary's Parish.(she was an Amos) On the Davis side of the family I cannot find anything before Arthur Davis. I was in New Iberia in 2002 and made a trip to the parish courthouse and found a marriage license for them but nothing else. I will get intouch with you. Thanks for your reply.
