Virgil Robert"Bob" Reed, born:4 Mar 1867 in TN, died:29 Mar 1952 in Dustin, OK. His mother, Martha Riddle Reed, died in childbirth when he was about 5 years old. Father, James Reed b 1841 TN, died shortly thereafter.
Virgil was raised by "an aunt". On which side I do not know. He was in Arkansas when he married Isley Milberry Keen. The family moved to McIntosh Co. when the children were young adults. (Early 1900's.)Her parents, Joel Keen and Lucy Christian Horn Keen, made the journey with them. They lived at Red Hill, OK or what was known as Carrol, OK.
Children that made the trip were: Oda, Idella "Dell", Virgil, Jr., James, and Willard. They had lost 3 young sons in AR to the bloody flux. (My grandmother, Oda, was the only child to survive the disease when her brothers died.)
I think there were other Reeds in the area with them. One census lists other Reed families near. I don't have that information with me at the time, but I did see on a census that there were others. My mother remembers there being cousins in the nearby town of Dustin. (this is close to Wetumka that you mentioned)
(This area was Hughes Co. before it was McIntosh Co.)

What made me look for this connection was that there is a Virgil Reed Scoggins. And I have be adding information in the Dustin Cemetery in Ok. And I noticed there are Scoggins in the Cemetery. Scoggins is a unusual name and Virgil Reed Scoggins. Looks like a possible connection to me.

Researching Isaac Reed born between 1817 & 1824, son of Hannah Hull & Richard Reed. Isaac was born in Loftus and married Ann? in 1858. Ann was born in 1833 but I do not have her surname. Reeds, Reed, Scoggin/s a census chalenge

I have reviewed a census 1850 AR, Izard Co. and found in the household of Jesse Scoggins (age 39)with wife Eliz Hamilton (29)and son Isaac H Scoggin 19).b;TN, Now we know this was the only son of wife Eliz. BUT in the Household are 5 more children, Tabitha Reave (spelling?) age 16. b;ILL, Then in the next lines WITHOUT a last name attached are Sara (14) b;TN, Nancy (11) b;AR, Poly (8)b;AR, Malinda (2) b;AR.

Now on this census the habit of this census taker was to list the last name when it changed and leave blank those that came after. SO were these other children last named Reave/Reed or Scoggins?

We know Jesse and Elizabeth were married 03 Sep 1832, pope Co ILL, and by 1850 the children we know of thus far Nancy 17in 1850, Alexander, Francis, Sarah 12 in 1850, Elvira are households in Independence Co AR with sisters so we assume the parents have died.

So are these SCOGGIN children of Jesse? if so what wife? as some are too old? OR are they Reed? if so of what family? Please not the birth place of the children are for one= ILL (where we know the Reed Children in the other households were born) the others are TN and AR?

Your opeinons would be appreciated.

You have no dates included in your post.

A long time ago a lady sent me snail mail with REEDS from Graves Co., Ky, but they are apparently earlier than yours.

James REEDS 1791-1870 m Juliet DAVIS 1808-1870--both are buried in Behtlehem Cemetery, Graves Co., Ky

I have never seen the given name Asinius, yet most of the REEDS with the S are related somehow. REEDS with the S is English and the name is still prevalent in England.

Do you have any idea where they were before Indiana? Our line was in Va in the 1600s to Ky to Mo and IL, but there could easily be a branch that broke off early.

I am related to Earl Reed of Ohio.
Did he have a sister Karen Reed Downing a mother Myrtle with red hair and did she have him removed from the Army and was it in the newspaper?

We have been looking for my mothers family for 36 years with no luck it is like Earl Reed dropped off the face of the earth.
