Afro-American family. Mr. Clifford Daniels was born about 1913 in Texas. I don't know what year they married, but in 1938 they had a son LAWRENCE CLIFFORD DANIELS born in Rusk County, Texas. . .

Their son Lawrence Clifford Daniels died in a home-explosion in June of 1966 in Fort Worth, Texas. . .

Does anyone know how Mr. LAWRENCE O'NEAL is related to the Daniels family? And, if Mr. Lawrence O'Neal is still living, and where? . . .

I am working on a family-tree and would appreciate any information you may have to share. Thank you

Re: Reddy / Ready/ Roddy Families from Ireland and England

I have an Ellen Reedy who married a Richard Morris and lived in Co.Waterford. They had a son born 1892 (also called Richard) in Tramore Co. Waterford. They appear to have run a grocers shop in Waterford City in 1894.

By the time of the 1901 census the son, Richard, is then living with the Power family (my connection) in Priests Rd, Tramore. What happended to Mum & Dad between 1894 and 1901? I cannot find evidence of their death so did they emigrate leaving young Richard behind (he may have been sick at the time they were to travel???). I can find no direct reltionship between the Morris/Reedy family and the Powers in Tramore/Waterford. Young Richard waas apparently finiancially supported as he grew up and he travelled to USA in his 20's and 30's eventially returning to Tramore where he died in 1960's. Unfortunatly no one around at that time (my father) asked him about his birth parents!

Does this ring any bells with anyone?
Josephine Reedy was my husbands grandmother. Her name was Josephine Adeline Reedy and her daughter Josephine Eliza Chase md. Raymond Roy Ragan. The father of Josephine Adeline Reedy was Samuel Reedy who md. Elisa M. Timms 19 June 1859 at Clarion Co., Pa. Samuel's father was John Reedy b. 1802 Pa & he died after 1880 & md. Nancy b. 1813 Pa. They had 14 children. The 1850 census of Beaver Twp., Clarion Co. is missing on the film but the 1860 census of Clarion Co., Beaver Twp pg 12 shows these kids. The ages lead me to believe there was more than 1 family. When I wrote to some of the people listed in the Clarion Co., phone book they didn't know anything about John Reedy as they were adopted. The 1870 & 1880 census lists them & in 1870 it show a child Francis age 15. The father of this John Reedy was also named John. He was b. 1787 Pa & md. Elizabeth b. 1788 according to the 1860 census of Clarion Co. Salem Twp. Do you have anything to add to the John Reedy's? Lois Ragan

The Harry Reedy mentioned by Don Theye sounds very much like the Harry Reedy who was a son of Andrew Jackson Reedy and Sarah Ann Lowe. He was a brother of Lucy Reedy, who married Thomas Frederick Stratford (commonly known as Fred Stratford). Fred was a son of Robert Stratford, who was an older half brother of my grandfather Hugh Elliott. Fred and Lucy had three daughters: Thelma, Coral and Kathleen.

For information on Harry’s family background see the article “ANDREW J. REEDY” on p. 437 of “History of Gage County, Nebraska” by Hugh Jackson Dobbs,
published by Western Publishing and Engraving Company, 1918. It is available via Google Books.
Hi Mary --

George W. Reedy is my great-great-grandfather.

There is some good information in his obituary:
-----------
Olean Evening Times, June 29, 1931, page 4:

George W. Reedy, eighty-seven year old Civil War Veteran, passed away Sunday at the home of his son, D.C. Reedy, 148 Grossman Avenue, after an illness of two weeks.

Mr. Reedy was born in Shippensville, Pa., May 12, 1844, and had lived in Olean for the last fifteen years. He was a member of Company K, 148th Infantry during the Civil War and served for three years with the company. He was a member of Bayard Post, G.A.R., this city.

Surviving are six sons, D.C. Reedy, at whose home he died; Elmer Reedy, Forrest Reedy, Philadelphia; George Reedy, Sheffield, Pa.; William Reedy, Emporium; J.K. Reedy, Butler, Pa.; and one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Lindsey, Sheffield, Pa.

Arrangements for the funeral are incomplete.
--------------------
The follow-up article after the service said he was buried in Canaseraga Cemetery in Burns, NY.

He was the son of John and Nancy Reedy, born in Clarion County, PA -- 12th of 13 children. He married Margaret J. "Maggie" Young about 1869. She was in July 1850 in Clarion County, PA, the daughter of John and Margaret Young. George and Maggie had 8 children. She died before 1920.

George remarried Amelia Cornwall, born July 1855 in NY. She had previously been married to Levi Metcalf. Levi died before 1900. They had three sons and one daughter.

George and Amelia married before 1920, probably in Olean. Amelia died 27 Mar 1930 in Olean. George died 28 Jun 1931 in Olean, NY.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you would like more detail.

Sue Hoadley

Hi I'm trying to track down this family. I have no idea what Richard's last name really is (turned out to be). I rented the LDS film that had this marriage bond on it, and I'm pretty sure the bondsman isn't related (he was a bondsman on a lot of the bonds). I did find a Zacharias REEDE who was a bondsman 5 years later or so - maybe Richard's brother? I'm not sure who her parents were, but if she's related to my Lehew's we are from Virginia.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Milley LEHUE m. Rich'd READIE, married on 29 Aug 1807, by Lewis Deweese, bondman Matthias READIN, A-6, Boone, Co., KY

thank you!
julie
sunnydaze1@hotmail

My Fred Reedy lived with his parents in Reedsburg PA next door to my paternal grandparents, Russell and Gussie Rex. I'm assuming he was born in the 30's. All I know is that he drove truck. Doris, my bio mother told me they were married in Jan 1957, but I'm not sure on this. She had two additional children, Brenda and Emily (Lem)before I was born in 1956.

Martha Reedy was my great grandmother. She lived in the Silver Beach area of the Bronx until her death in the early 1970s. As far as I know, Tim Reedy (not sure whose son he was) was her last surviving niece/nephew, he died while living in the same neighborhood in 2007.

Joseph was my Josephine's older brother according to the paper I got from one of my cousins. Joseph M b 1860 m. Elizabeth Pishop(Bishop) in 1879 and moved to Elyria ohio. The only info I have on Samuel's father is that his name was John Reedy. It does say that Samuel was born in 1837 at Glascow, Venango Township, Pa. If you find any more info please email me. I am constantly looking at things.

Thank you - I do have him in my listing of the Canaseraga cemetery, and was hoping to substantiate the info I thought I had. Good Stuff. The American Legion in Canaserago continues to mark his grave with a flag. They did say they would also order a marker for the grave, but I have not yet seen it.
Mary
