hi, i am very new to looking up my roots. please help me get started, for every place i look i hit a brick wall. john was my gfather and was born in n.h. he had a brother named clovis, which is my dads name. the best he can tell me is that he was born at alton bay and lived in athol mass. he also remembers, (he thinks his g-father) was a fur trapper in quebec about 300 mi. north of a place called chicoutimi. i know the name is form the latin lang., and it's not too common as far as i can tell. if anyone could help get me going on the right track i would be very thankful. if it is of any help, my dad's brothers names were darrell, louis, and sisters were rose and regina. john worked in the shoe factories in athol area and in n.h. his wife's name was bessie (haddock) regis. my name is ron regis.
