Classification: Query
Surnames: Reimer, Reininger, Renz
Researching Edward Reininger and Sophie Reimer in the Milwaukee-Wauwatosa, Wisconsin area. His birthdate is believed abt 1856 and hers probably abt that time. We are not even 100% sure about her last name, but the name Reimer is a strong possibility.
Edward & Sophie had three boys named Fred, Edward C., and Frank G. and a daughter named Elsie. We're unsure of the spelling of Sophie's last name, but believe her parents may have been John and Mary. Their son, Fred, changed his last name to his mother's maiden name, Reimer. The boys were placed in an orphanage and the girl may have gone to live with relatives due to infortunate family circumstances. It is possible that Edward may have been shot and killed his wife, Sophie, but we have no proof of that.
Frank G. Reininger was born in Milwaukee to the best of our knowledge. Our Reiningers settled in the Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin area. Our ancestor is Frank G. who married Josephine Renz from that area.
Please contact us if you know of any possible conections to this family.
