Didn't you say they originated in Austria, though? It's a more common name in Germany, much less so in Austria.

I was born & raised in Kent, but all the Reinelt's (my husbands family) are from and still live in Essex England.

Born, raised, and still in Connecticut.
Parents/grandparents(both sets), and great-
grandparents(all 4 sets) all from Fall River,
Mass. What about you?

I'm visiting my grandmother the last week of

Oh, my goodness, YES, there some Reinelts in the U.S.
There are also some in Austria, too.
I'm currently composing a letter for a mass-mailing to Austria
(my best friend from high school was a german major in college - lucky me).
I will let you know what I turn up.
I need to talk to my grandmother about living Reinelts.
Her mother was a Reinelt (one of 10 or 11 siblings - there is some debate about this-
her memory is good, but there are some vague spots - she's 93)
and all but one married and had children.

Came to the U.S. prior to birth of first child
(also named Sophie) 12/25/1878
