Hi
I just came across your note. I am fairly sure this is my greatgreat grandfather. I do not have information on his parents names, but his wife was Hattie Caroline Corey. They lived in Lowell, Dodge County Wisconsin
I would be THRILLED to have the article you talked about! I am hoping I am not too late! They were the parents of my greatgrandma, Nora. My grand daughter just wore Nora christening dress for her christening!
Thank you
Sue Lambrix Napa, Ca

Bob,

I sent you a link privately where I read about Christian Reinhard (who doesn't appear to be yours). I was told that my Charles Reinhard came from "Oberver" Germany, which I feel is my informant's version of Oberbieber. Perhaps our Reinhards are brothers or cousins. I have just started to research so hopefully I can come up with more info as I continue to dig. I'll share whatever I come up with if I find a connection.

Thanks for responding,

Rich

Re: Reinhard ancestry

Hi, Rich,
I'm afraid I haven't found any connection to Charles'
family. Christian had a daughter named Katherine who married
Peter Mengert of the Mansfield, Ohio area, and a son named
Philip, who married Anna Lohmann in Watertown, WI, and later
moved to Pittwood, IL. Philip and Anna were my great grandparents. There were a couple of Christian Reinhards in the Lowell area. Mine was married to Philippina. They immigrated about 1855. Their oldest son, William, founded a
lumberyard in Reeseville, WI, which remained in the family until the 1960s. In fact, Christian was fatally injured while working at the sawmill of the lumberyard. Unfortunately, I know very little of Christian and Philippina, especially prior to their immigration. I know his dates are 1817-1878, and hers ar 1820-1898. They were
originally from the Oberbieber-Niederbieber area of Germany.
There is a two volume book about families of the area, written by a Beate Busch-Schirm. I had contact with her, and
she told me that Philippina's maiden name was also Reinhard.
The publishing company will only accept cash for the purchase, and I'm unwilling to send cash through the mail.
According to my great aunt, Irene (Reinhard)Lunde, the male
Reinhards she found were Lorenz (1720?-1790?), his son, Thiel (1745?-1800?), Thiel's son, Johann Phillip (1785?-1865?). Johann Phillip was Christian's father. I wasn't able
to locate much information on Christian, in spite of a brief
membership in Ancestry.com. Anything you might be able to
tell me would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Bob

Hi Bob,

I hope you're still out there. I have read through the Reinhard threads and I also have a Reinhard family who settled in Lowell, WI. (1870's and 1880's) I have seen quite a bit of info on Christian and his family on line, but little for my Reinhard's - Charles, Mena, John, Jacob, Kate, Charles and Phillip. Since Reinhard is such a common name, I'm taking a shot in the dark - do these names appear in your family??

Thanks alot,

Rich

I am looking for anyone who can help me track down a Frederick G. Reinhard from New York City. Last address in 1932 was 20 E. 57th Street. NY NY. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on 3/17/1904. ANY help finding this gentleman would be greatly appreciated. I do show a trip he made to Germany in 1932 but that is all I can find at this time. This man is an important link to my Reinhard family.

Hi, Sandy,
Don't think that is my Christian. Mine died as a result
of a sawmill accident in Reeseville, WI., 1878. His obit
was posted in, I believe, the Beaver Dam Argus (?). He was
buried, however, in Lowell. There's a small obelisk type of
marker with his and wife, Phillipina's, names on it. I do
know that there was another, probably more well known,
Christian Reinhard in the Lowell area. I think my Christian's son, William, worked for him for a while.
Thanks, anyway.
Bob

My great great grandfather John Hornung married Theresa Reinhard both of Norwegian Township, Schuylkill County PA, they married Sept. 1846. John and Theresa were from Prussia. I'd be interested in any information you might have on Theresa. I believe John died during the civil war era and Theresa re-married a William Heisler, they ran a hotel in Pottsville, PA in 1880. John and Theresa had several children, my great grandfather was John J Hornung who married in 1879 and lived next door to the Heisler's in Pottsville.
