I am looking for the immediate family of Johann Arnolt Reinhart who arrived in Philadelphia PA in 1750 on the Ship Rotterdam. I beleive that Susannah Reinhart is descended from him and I from her. I think he is either her father or her grandfather. Susannah married John Wann who moved to Harford County, Maryland. I think his father was Johann Wilhelm Wann who arrived with Johan Arnolt Reinhart.

Hi, My name is Angie and Russell & Maude were my Great-Grandparents. My mom is Connie Reinhart who was Albert and Selma's daughter (7th in the line of 12). Albert Lorenzo was Russell and Maude's 4th oldest child. Albert and Selma's oldest Richard, my uncle, and his family still live on the land. Their house is about 50 yards from where the original house was.

Lorraine, I read your posting and it was like yesterday we were at your house.

To anyone else responding to this posting (Clara's great-grandchild) please get in touch with me as I find this all facinating.

I would love to get as much history as I can to do a family tree. We need to start somewhere...

My email is saints3@mts.net. Please write.

You may have seen this website before. It can be quite useful. Beware that last name spelling in genealogy is a "freestyle" event. The way you spell your name now may not resemble anything your ancestors would recognize let alone the guy filling out the mainfest on the boat they sailed on. Good luck.

http://www.progenealogists.com/palproject/

Russell & Maude Reinhart - bio

History of Early Settlers in Roseau County, MN
1885 - 1910 Book 2 - page 383

Russell Wilbur REINHART, born 1 March, Pine Island, Minnesota. His father Lorenzo Reinhart died when Russell was 12 years old. Russell came to Warroad, MN in Sept of 1902. He homesteaded the land that later was sold to Baltze Streiff and then Ernest and Mavis Brandli.

Maude Elizabeth VOAKLANDER, born to Albert and Clara CHAPIN VOAKLANDER, was born 27 July 1882 in Lake County, south Dakota.

Because Maude's brother, Herbert was already living in America Township, her parents decided to move to Roseau County in Sept 1902. She homesteaded the land that her grandson: Richard Reinhart eventually owned.

Maude came with her folks fra Nebraska, where they then lived, to America Township. they left by train early in Sept 1902 for Stephen, Minnesota. They arrived at Pelan, passed through Greenbush, where a friend of Maude's grandmother: Harold Sanders greeted them which made them feel less alone in the world.

Russell's trip fra Pine Island to Warroad appeared tobe more comfortable and less adventurous. He also came in September. But he came by train by way of Winnipeg.

Maude taught school in Roseau County a year or more. She qualified because she was a high school graduate.

Russell and Maude were married at her folks homestead in America Township on March 15, 1904. It was a double wedding, Maude's brother: Herbert and his bride Annie being the other couple.

Russell sold his homestead and they made their home on Maude's farm. After a few years they sold that farm to Ambrose Engles and bought 40 acres in Moranville Township where they lived for a few years. Then they bought back the homestead farm which was sold for delinquent taxes. They lived on this farm until they moved to Warroad in 1953.

During those 50 years, Russell and Maude reinhart raised 14 children to adulthood.

Russell's formal education stopped at the end of grade four, but nonetheless he was an avid reader.

Russell Wilbur reinhart died December 20, 1961. Maude Elizabeth Voaklander Reinhart died Sept 25 1963. they were buried in the riverside Cemetery on the bank of the Warroad River.

*I am not related to the above persons. Thank you.

There are quite a few Reinhardts/Reinharts in Wurttemberg (umlaut over the u; or spelled Wuerttemberg). For example my Reinhardt/Reinhart lines came from villages around Reutlingen (south of Stuttgart). They settled north of Waterloo, IA, in the early 1860s having first come to NY starting in 1848 and continuing through the 1850s. One of the obituaries I have says Wittenberg, which is a typo. Also, my Reinhardts (some dropped the d) emigrated through the port of Antwerp, Belgium, and I found an index for the year 1855 that listed a couple family members and included passport information with the village of origin. The church records in the particular villages I researched were well kept and one had records going back to 1583 while others only back to 1648. Hope this might be helpful.

Gary

Reinhart maiden name on York PA Peterman fractur

I saw a Fractur while browsing an antique shop today.
It was in German but here is the jist of it:
Peter Peterman & his wife Barbara Reinhart gave birth to a daughter Elizabeth on Nov. 21, 1812 in Manheim Township York County PA. No date was given for a baptism but witnesses at her baptism were listed as Daniel Peterman & Frau Christina. I couldn't make out the name of the clergyman.
There was a later handwritten notation that said, "died March 26, 1902." I assume this date of death is for Elizabeth.
I'm not related to this family, I just like to list these sort of things for other researchers since I see them in my quest for antiques & items from my family.
If anyone related is interested in obtaining this document please e-mail me & I'd be happy to lead you to where I saw it & you could acquire it if it is still there.
I hope this helps someone out there!
Chris
aggb432: My first cousin (once removed) was a John A Reinhart. He was born 22 April 1867 in Peoria, Illinois: the son of Francis J Reinhart and Elizabeth Fitzgibbons. After Elizabeth died, Francis moved his family to Kansas City, KS.

John A Reinhart served as a Corporal, Company F, 23rd Regiment, US Army, in the Phillipine Insurrection. He married a Mamie Paradis. They had two children that I know of, Maragaret and James. In 1923, I show him living at 110 Spring Street, Kansas City, MO.

While its a remote possibility your John A Reinhart is the same person as my John A Reinhart, take a look and let me know what you think.
Looking for any information on John and Minnie Reinhart (who lived in the Cincinnati/Brombley/Ludlow area) on their ancestors and where they are buried. They were my Great Grandparents. John apparently had a heart attack fell into the Ludlow Lagoon while watering his horses and drown about 1907. Minnie's maiden name is not certain, could be Creedy / Crete / Kridie, I'm at a dead end on that. They had about 14 children, their daughter Marie being my Grandmother, she married Louis F. Fayard on 02-08-1904. i would love to find their graves.
Thanks,
Shelia

Bartholomaus Reinhart (many spellings) came to America on June 22, 1841 through the Port of Baltimore (MD) on the ship "clementine". He was hard to find because his name was spelled Bartel Reinard on original ship register. On other media he is also listed as Rheinhard.

For more information, email me at srskelton906@peoplepc.com, not the listed one above.

I have several generations prior to Bartholomaus (incidentally whose first name is Johann).

Would life to compare/share info on this line.
Thanks, Sharon

John Reinhart was my grandfather...my mother was his daughter Josephine. My grandmother was Ida Anne they had 6 children. Tommy,Johnny, Margaret.(deseased) Betty, Marie, Josephine and Rosemarie (Billie). John and Ida never divorced....for some reason he left them in Arizona and disapeared......My grandmother raised the children on her own and passed away in 1981 in Modesto California at my father and stepmothers home wher she lived for many years.
My step mom was Josephines sister...my father married sisters. We found my grandfather John in the 50's and he replied to several of my letters. Some of his children with Ida corresponded with him...others did not. My grand mother never re married. She was a langley from Dallas.
I was for a long time her favorite grandchild and lived with her often traveling between Phoenix and Modesto on the Greyhound bus line.
My Grandmother was a good lady and was always helped by her children especially my Uncle Tommy...my dad James E Walker and my stepmom Margaret (Jimmie). she spent her last years living in the guest house at their home.
I never met my grandfather, John or any of Ida Anne Langley's family....I am 60 now and would like to know more about them and their ancsestors.
My father James E Walker is deseased and was from Tennessee....His mothers name was Evelyn Barksdale Walker........ I do not know who his father or grandparents were....his cousin is Eugene Barksdale of Shelby County Tn. and was the Sheriff for many years.
