Am looking for any info concerning Daniel Remely from PA who married Sarah Freese from N.J. about 1830, probably in PA. They moved to southern Ohio abt 1832. I have no idea who their families were. Family story goes that he worked in the coal mines, they played out, so he came to Ohio. I don't know what area of PA they may have come from. Any help MUCH appreciated.

Oh, yes. I am SO willing to share. Daniel and Sarah were the parents of Lydia Remely who married William Shane Root. William Shane and Lydia are my g grandparents. I am REALLY anxious to find out what all you have. Do you have any information on Sarah's family? I'm at a standstill on them.

Hi , I have information on a C.C. Remmele . Don't know if it the same one you were asking about but I have a Caleb Cole Remmele in my family line and he was born August 19 ,1812 . I have been looking for his father who was Jacob Remmele B.1777 and died 1834 in Penn.

I am looking for any information on a Mary Elizabeth Remele. She married into the Gobin family. We have pictures from before the turn of the century of the Remele family. We think they were taken around Aledo Illinois. There are also a couple of them taken at a lake?? It is labeled Remeles' Fishing Camp.

My great grandfather is John Charles Remmele. He had a son named John who lived in Sedan, Kansas. I would like to be in touch with this family. Would this be the same family? When he came over from Germany he settled in Philladelphia, Pa., then moved to Pittsbergh, Pa. After they moved to Iowa. He had seven sons and three daughters.

John, my great-grandfather was Charles John Remele and he moved to Iowa. Could he have been one of the brothers you were talking about that moved to Iowa.

I am connected to the Remele through my Gr-grandmom Ruth Gobin. Her mother is listed May (Mary) Elizabeth Remele. My dad has pictures of many people we think are from that side. One is a post card type labeled 'Remele's Fishing Camp'. Does any of this strike a cord?

Lois: I believe this is the same family. My great grandfather was John Charles Remmele who came from Germany. I believe he was a chemist, and settled in Pittsburgh, Pa. It was my understanding that there were 9 brothers and that some changed spelling to Remele. We have photographs, but very little information on Mr. and Mrs. John Charles Remmele. His son John Remele(and wife Rosella) (my grandparents) lived in Sedan Kansas and he had two brothers who lived in Iowa. John and Rosella had twin sons, Carmen and Carl, and Ward Huffman (my father). I would be interested in any additional information you have.

When I found out that John Remele moved to Sedan, Kansas I wonder if I could get any information on his part of the family. All I had was his children name. I have his wife Ella Lair and you have Rosella. Maybe Ella was a nickname. My grandfather, Henry Edward Remele was a brother to your grandfather John Remele. All of John's brothers and sisters are in Iowa except John and John was to for while. His children were born in Iowa. My e-mail address is lavonne@centurytel.net. Will you e-mail me there.
By the way did you know John C Remele married Catherine Hoffman and since I see Wards middle name maybe it was Huffman. I check both spellings anyway.

I too have a Caleb Remmele in my line. I don't know his dates, but he was married to Polly Trip and had a son Gilbert Ball Remmele, who was born June 6, 1850 in Amboy, Ohio, and died January 31, 1934, in Adrian, Michigan. Gilbert married Rosa Viola Chapin, and they had four children, including my grandmother. Is that the same Caleb Remmele?
