It looks like there are two old traceable lines with the Remington surname in the US that are haplogroup I1a. One line that can go back to 1788 in North Carolina (possibly migrated there after Rev. War) and a second that could descend from the NY/CT/Warwick,RI/Mass. and originally out of the three supposed brothers out of the original Mass. line. If the original Remington line is all mostly Haplogroup I1a (outside those adaptive variations for others who adopted the same surname), then they potentially could have descended from Viking/Saxon descendants from the Yorkshire area. Need more male line Remington surnames to test at ancestry and post results. Thanks
