I believe we are related somehow. I am the great granddaughter of Bertha Eva Renard Hollified. I have some information that is the same as yours, but some of it varies such as:

Frank B. Renard married Belzue (or maybe Belyru) Amanda Scroggins. The children I have listed for them are Lewis Beamon, John Franklin, George Thad, Henry Issac, Herman, Bether Eva, Robbie and Rollie (twins), and Herbert.

Do you know if anyone has a picture of Nancy (Hardisty) Renard? I have pictures of Amanda and she looks like she could be the possible Indian link in the family but so far have not been able to substantiate this.

This is just too freaky, but Bertha Holifield (Renard) was my great grandmother. I too have been searching to find out about Nancy who was supposed to be Cherokee indian. You posted a long time ago, but hopefully you still check your messages once in a while.

Apparently we are somehow related.

Update:

My aunt Imogene died on 30 Aug 2006 in Jonesboro, AR. She was born 13 Mar 1922 in Dunklin Co MO, grew up in Dixie, AR; married Max L Smith (1918-1991) on 8 May 1943 in Abilene, TX; lived for a time in Hannibal, MO, and was a longtime resident of Jonesboro (Craighead Co), AR. I believe she and Max are buried near Trumann, AR.

She's named in the earlier post as Mabel Imogene Renard [Smith], daughter of George Thed Renard (1893-1959) and Velma Flora Wilson (1900-1982).

I am looking for information on my gggrandfather Frederick Renard, born 1819 in Cologne Germany, immigrated to Wisconsin in 1847, then to Nebraska in 1860, died 1913 in Oakland NE. His wife's name was Anna Wulf or Wolf, born 1819 in Hannover Germany, died 1898 in Oakland NE. He was the only surviving child of parents Andreas Renard and Maria Elizabetha Pauli (1794-1822) of Cologne. His maternal grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Dumoulin, born in Bonn Germany in 1869. He claimed his ancestry was "entirely French" although everyone seems to have been born in Germany. He had 9 children. I have run into dead ends regarding his wife, his father and his maternal grandmother. Any information on them would be appreciated.

Doug; I've been searching for someone who is related to Peter Louis Renard for a long time. I'm related to Peter's oldest daughter, Josephine Renard. She married my Great grandfather, Joseph Fouard , in Salina, KS. on January 31,1883.
If you will send me your e-mail I would be glad to send you what information I have. It's been a real struggle to gather information.
They were only married about 4 years and my grandfather was raised by his father. Josephine basically disappeared. Hope to hear from you soon.

Linda Chavez

John Renard

at the time of my grandfather's death, his brother John Renard was listed as living in Essex, MO. My Greatgrandfather "Chalkie" Renard had children from his first marriage and later married a Minnie May Spradling who first married Albert Riddle, then chalkie, then a man with the last name Sherfield. Much of my Father's family was from Missouri. Any connection??? There was also a Henry Renard who was a brother to John, LT (THED) my grandfather, JR Sherfield-brother, and four sisters. We should compare notes! I find a little more everyday.

John Franklin Renard, born 31 Jul 1891 in Grand Chain, Illinois, died in Dexter (Essex) Missouri 15 November 1976. He is my husband's (Bobby G. Renard) father. My husband recalls his uncles--Thed, Henry, and Bud. There was a third uncle named Frank who lived in California. There was one sister named Bertha. Little has been recorded on names, but Bob remembers these individuals. "Chalkie" sounds familiar to him; he never knew his grandfather, but believes he was called Chalkie.
