Today I picked an old picture out of some
trash that this lady was throwing away.
She said it was from her mother's house whom
she has moved into a care facility and she did
not know who the people were. She gave me some
possible last names and they were Rennick, Sorrell,
or Bartelsmeyer. The lady who owned this picture
was a Jane Parrish. If this is familiar to anyone
and they want a look at this picture please let me
know.

Sandra - Whilst browsing arond the Donegal and Fermanagh counties in search of RENICKS during the 1600's, I ran across your mame and researcher for the RENICKS of that period. I am a long-time researcher fcr the same period and I believe that I have information back to 1630 and many additional lRENICK names that may help you in your search.
However, it will take me several hoursof searching my notes, pedigrees, etc. to give you what I have, since I have not worked on the Renicks for a number of years.
My connection to the RENICK family is through THOMAS RENICK, the second son of GEORGE, who emigrated to America in ca 1717. His descendants migrated from Maryland to Kentucky and on to Barren Co.an then Missouri.. A grandaughter of THOMAS' married a MC RAY,so, that is where I connect. By the way, the spelling of RENICKi is of earlier times than RENNICK. (RENNICK is more prevalent in the 1800's)
I will dig out my old records and notes and see what I have. Contact me on e-mail. We have a copy of the Greenbrier Renick book in our local LDS History Center and I was looking at it yesterday; there is considerable difference in Harlow's version and a lot of what I have been able to find!

Renick / Rennick

Hi
I am trying to establish if there is any kinship between the Ren(n)ick's of Mercer County Kentucky 1790's and the
Ren(n)ick's of Warren County Kentucky by 1800

Court Orders; Mercer County, Kentucky, page 318, February 28, 1792:
Ordered that the following hands attend Lawrence McGuire to open and keep in repair the road from Salt River to the Nelson County line, as it leads from Delaney's Ferry, viz.; Joseph McGuire, Lawrence McGuire, Jesse McGuire, George Nokes (Noakes), Abraham Sharp, William Nation, George Nation, William Mayhall, Joseph Lyon, Ezekiel Lyon, James Lyon, John Rennick, William Rennick, Alexander Armstrong, Solomon Sharp, Peter Lock, Benjamin Lock, Joseph Nation and Timothy Mayhall.

2 May 1797 ( Source: Warren County KY Order Book #1- Barren County KY formed in 1798 from Warren Co.)
Ordered that Thomas CHAPMAN, Frederick BARNS, Richard GLOVER & William SMITH (any 3) to view for a road from the above mill to Andrew McFADIN's Ferry; thence to KELLY'sin the 12-mile grove on the Nolin Trace and make report. Ordered
that John COLE, James BERRY, John MOSS & John HALL (any 3) view for a road from AMOS Ferry on the Green River to Joseph LOCK's on Beaver Creek and from there to
James BERRY's on Skaggs Creek, make report.

1799 William PREWETT, bought land from Joseph LOCK; Richard
LOCK, Field PREWETT-lines; Chas RENICK & Fields PREWITT, cc.
1800 Same, land from same; Henry RENICK, BLACK, RENNICK's military line.

Is there any kinship between John Rennick, William Rennick listed in the Mercer County Ky record and
Henry Renick and Chas (Charles?) Renick of Warren County/Barren County Ky.

I know the Lock's were in Mercer County Ky and later in Warren County / Barren County Ky, so what I am thinking is, the Renick's did the same thing and I am wondering if they are related some how?

Donald Locke
Sandra,
Thank you very much for posting this information. I am a descendant of William Renick of Paxtang Twp, Lancaster Co, PA, a brother (or cousin, depending on the source) of your Greenbriar Renick. I have some of the early Paxtang records and even earlier records when the family lived near Philadelphia -- would be most happy to share them with you, if you would like.
Please send me an e-mail.
Glenn Gealy

I have become very interested in Native American Genealogy.
My grandmother was Emma Mae Logan, brother William Edward Logan living in Gallipolis Ohio in 1876, the year William was born. Parents were Joseph Logan and Susan Ford. I know I am related somewhere in this Renick thing, but just can't prove it yet......

Emma Mae was my grandmother, both children were put in the Childrens home in Gallipolis Ohio. Trying to get back the line from Joseph Logan and Susan Ford. There are Fords in that area that lived in Putnam County, but still can't prove anything yet.

Any help appreciated.....Think this Joseph Logan from VA or Kentucky.

Kacey and Leah,
The name "Archer" perked my interest. This is a long shot, but Robert Renick married Betsy Archer sometime before 1750. This family (from which I also descend) was originally from Paxtang Twp, Lancaster Co. PA. They ended up in Greenbriar West VA. I don't know this branch of the family very well, but will do what I can to help you get in touch with someone who does. Send me an e-mail directly.
Glenn S. Gealy

Renicks in St. Louis

In my tree, I have a Mary E. "Jean" (nee: Sullivan) Renick that died in St. Louis in December of 1954. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery (St. Louis). I believe she may have been a widow at the time of her death. She had a son, James. I think that James may have been raised by an uncle, Charles Jenkins. Charles is listed as the foster father of James and of his cousin Betty. Charles' wife, Margaret, was the sister of Jean. She died about 3 months before Jean. I believe Betty died in 2003. She was about 80 at the time.

I have information on Jean's family if anyone is interested.

Mary
