Children of Henry and Sophia:

i. Pauline3 “Nellie” Rennert, born 1 January 1875, Germany; immigrated to the United States 1882; married Charles W., son of Coles Ogden and Elizabeth Ruckle, Ripon, Wisconsin, September 1894; married second Lester L. Phillips; lived Oshkosh until divorced, probably 1944; children by first husband: Edward and Grace.

ii. Bertha M. Rennert, born 13 May 1877, Germany; immigrated to the United States 1882; married Henry, son of David H. and Stacy Long, at Oshkosh, 16 December 1914; Bertha was an actress; lived Minneapolis and Indianapolis until
the death of her husband in 1931 when she returned to Oshkosh; no children; died Oshkosh, 2 December 1943.

iii. Martha Rennert, born September 1878, Germany; came to the United States 1882; married Edward Collins, a professional comedian, 1895, born Ireland 1864 and immigrated to the United States 1876; first child: Ellen, born Illinois, 1896; son Edward, born Minnesota, 1904; living Florida when Edward died between 1914 and 1920 when Federal Census lists Martha as a widow living with her son, Eddie, at 1611 Fourteenth Avenue, Pensacola, Florida; Martha working at home as a seamstress; Eddie, sixteen, working in the shipyards; Martha told census taker she and her parents were born in California—possibly because
of anti-German sentiment in the United Stated at the time that had resulted in many German- Americans being beaten and one even lynched by a mob in Illinois in 1918.

iv. Otto Gustav “Gus” Rennert, born 17 May 1880, Germany; came to the United States with parents 1882; married Emma Mille, daughter of August Krueger and Marie Bubolz, at Oshkosh, 9 May 1903; Gus was a house painter, but also worked as a laborer and machinist; divorced about 1926-1928; moved to Milwaukee and remarried; Gus and Emma’s children: Bessie, Opal, Wealthy, Roy, Laverne, Dorothy, Carmen, Dale and Deforest; Otto died between 1954 and 1966.

v. Henry George Rennert, born 24 October 1881, Zakaehan, Germany; came to the United States 1882 with parents; married Mabel Doty.30 [See Doty Family]

vi. Rudolph A. Rennert, born 14 October 1883, Ripon, Wisconsin; married twice, first Clara, daughter of Alexander La Borde and Jennie Duchine; they had eight children before divorcing in 1927: Clarence W., Murle W., Lawrence, Margaret S., Norbert, Lyle,
Florence and Genevieve; married second Esther Beattie, 31 October 1928, Detroit, Michigan; Rudolph was a house painter and interior decorator like his father, also worked as a carpenter and molder; died 10 April 1954, Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

vii. Paul Arthur Rennert, born 10 May 1886, Ripon, Wisconsin; a painter, like his father, he also worked as a laborer at the Paine Lumber Company in Oshkosh; died of appendicitis 1906,3 age twenty.

viii. Ida M. Rennert, born 7 October 1887, Ripon, Wisconsin; before marriage worked at the Oshkosh Bottle Wrapper Company; married Roman, son of Frank Behling and Anna Conrad, 28 November 1906; child: Bernice; divorced 1919; married second Michael Dushenski, son of Andrew Dushenski and Josephine Chesna;41 Ida and her husband took care of Sophia after the death of Henry in 1931; Ida died 1 July 1966.42

ix. Ewald Emil Rennert, born 3 February 1889, Ripon, Wisconsin; painter and decorator, also worked as a steeplejack and electrician; married Mary, daughter of Anton Scheinpflug, born 21 November 1888, Austria; immigrated to the United States1904; moved to Appleton about 1918; children: Paul Z., Carlyle and Eugene H.; divorced about 1931; Mary died 25 March 1957, Appleton; Ewald 5 January 1968, New London, Wisconsin.

x. Sophia D. Rennert, born 18 September 1890, Ripon, Wisconsin; employed at a door factory prior to marriage, 27 July 1910, to Charles, son of Louis Ebersberger; Charles born 20 April 1892, Pennsylvania; employed as an installer at telephone company from 1920 until his death in 1932; after Charles died, Sophia worked at a truck manufacturing plant; married second Harold, August 1946, son of Reinhold Dietz and Eva Anderson; Sophia died 25 April 1977; children: Louis H., Bertha S. and Charles.

xi. Wilhelmina “Minnie” Rennert, born 10 March 1892, Ripon, Wisconsin;1910 living with parents Oshkosh and working at the Diamond Match Company; by 1912, employed as singer at the Star Theater in Oshkosh; left Oshkosh about 1914; living Milwaukee and married to Andrew Steinbach by 1931; returned to Oshkosh, about 1960, a widow; supported herself as a cook in local hotels and restaurants until retired 1974; died 7 May 1989.

xii. Walter E. Rennert, born 3 November 1893, Ripon, Wisconsin; a painter and decorator, also a fire- man before moving to California about 1938; married Linda I. Kleist between 1912 and 1914; children: Violet D., Walter, Roy H., May Marie, Mildred and Vernon; died 12 November 1980; Linda 12 January 196160—both in California.

xiii. Clara Greta Rennert, born 27 November 1896, Ripon, Wisconsin; married Frank C. Benes,62 lineman Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, 1930; Clara employed Oshkosh Corrugated Box Manufacturing Company; left Oshkosh about 1932; by 1943 living Indianapolis, Indiana; lived there until their deaths—Frank in April 1970 and Clara in February 1983; child: Dorothy.
