I am seeking info on Millie Renfro/Rentfro/Rentfrow and any Rentfros related to Moses, Peter, and Isaac Rentfro, who traveled from VA to the Clarksville, TN area before 1784. Millie was born around around 1762, probably in VA, and "was the daughter of one of the 3 Rentfro brothers" (per the family Bible) who settled at Rentfroes Station, on the Red River. There was a Josiah Rentfro who was killed by indians while in a boat going from VA to TN, commanded by Moses Shelby, in 1787 and a Joseph Rentfro Jr., who was killed after the massacre about 1781. None of these accounts give ages.
Millie married Moses Shelby about 1784, and they later moved to KY. Many of those early Rentfros were killed by indians and I am having trouble finding wills, or even early TN marriage records. I have searched the Lincoln Co., KY marriage records for that time period with no luck. So I am concentrating on TN records.
I believe Joseph Jr. had a son John (and a widow, Olive) who lived in Livingston Co., KY near Moses and Millie, and this John also was the bondsman for their son Isaacs' marriage in 1821. It would be wonderful for me if he did so because he was Millies' brother, but I am not holding my breath. Also, one of Millies' sons was named Josiah, and this is the first time this name shows up in the Shelby lines. If anyone can give me any info on Millie, or the children of the above Josiah and Joseph, I would truly appreciate it.
