Tracy - My sister, Betty (Elizabeth) McCartney married a Wm. Retzloff (b. 18 Sept 1930); married in c1951, perhaps in Marine City. They parted ways (div. or annuled). They had a son; he is interested in learning about his father, who is deceased, perhaps died in TX or as Teri mentioned in FL. We may be 'talking' about the same person, maybe not. Appreciate a replay. - Bill
I spend alot of time researching my family and I am working on the Decas family right now; which is my fathers side of the family. Grace Victoria Decas Woods was my grandmother. One of her brothers, Joe Decas is in your family. Generation No. 4 shows Kathera Retzloff who married Joe Decas with a question mark by father, who was Albert Decas and Annie who were my great grandparents. Just thought this might help a little.

Laurie Calvin

Laurie -
Thank you so much for the information. Although the above names are my main focus, (as well as Schulenburg and Bossler) I also research the families who marry into them and welcome all the information I can get. My oldest sister, Lucille, was born in Aunt Katie's and Uncle Joe's home in Kenedy, Texas on October 8, 1945.
What is Annie Decas's maiden name?

Each time I go back to Texas for a visit, my aunts on my Mom's side love to get their hands on my laptop to read the new information I've gathered. Since we live in San Diego, CA now, my research at this point is limited to on-line. However, over the last several years I have taken pictures of gravesites in Kenedy and am documenting New Bremen Cemetery near Coy City.

I'd love any additional info you have that connects the families.

Jo Ann Sedgwick
gwsedgwick@earthlink.net
Retzloff, Retzlaff

I am looking for Retzloff families. My grandfather, WILLIAM EDWARD GUSTAV RETZLOFF (May28,1884-1935) , emigrated to Provost, Alberta about 1910, from Sanborn, New YorkGandfather. His parents were GUSTAV CARL FREDRICK RETZLOFF (changed from RETZLAFF at some point) - Oct 11, 1850-1934, and JOHANNA MARIA ELIZABETH WALCK ( born in Wallmow of Prenslau, Germany; emigrated on, or about, Oct. 30, 1843 to Sanborn, New York). Gustav's father was also named GUSTAV, married to MONICA VOLK. I was told by
my father that his father William, had originally moved to Devil's Lake, North Dakota, to work for an Uncle George, who was a carpenter. There he purchased his tools from Uncle George, and moved on to Canada. I queried my cousins in New York, but nobody had heard of this George. They also had no
further knowledge of names of other Retzlaff family members who had come to USA. My father said they had come to avoid the draft.
