Exum Revel and Etheldred Revel.

Classification: Query
Surnames: Revell/Revel/Revelle/Revil, Revill/Reville/Rivill
Someone was asking a while back ago about Exum Revel from NC, Wayne County. I ordered the Wills of Patience & Micajah (Michael) Revel and Exum was mentioned in them. He was their son. The Wills are on the web now; just do a Rootsweb search & you'll find them.

Patience died in 1839 & Micajah died in 1836 in Wayne NC. My reason for ordering the Wills was that I've been looking for Etheldred Revel/Revell/Revelle now for 2 years. Still haven't found him, and I spent 8 hrs in the library at Raleigh NC a few weeks ago. No sign of him. I've ordered some books, also, of newspaper extracts covering the 1790s. I received them just today, and it turns out that the books only cover the newspaper called, The State Gazette, which was established in 1787 in New Bern, NC, and moved to Edenton, NC, in 1788. When I ordered them I thought they were statewide. So, more money wasted....again.... Etheldred, do you know how much trouble you've caused me?

Anyway, if anyone believes their ancestor may have lived in either New Bern (1787-1788) or Edenton (1788-1799), just email me & I'll see if their names are in the index. I have a scanner & can scan any of the articles.

Cheers, Cindi.
