Looking for information on the parents of John Rhoads (spelling varies) who was born in 1774 in Pa. He married Elizabeth Baldwin abt. 1800. They found their way to Indiana, and both are buried there. I have info. that suggests John's parents was a John Rhoads, DOB 1755, who married Eunice ? John the elder served in The Rev. War, died in Sussex Co. N.J. in 1824. It is possible that there is Indian blood in this family. One of John Elizabeth's sons married a Christina Eckart, whose mother was Mary Polly Brady, a full blooded Cherokee Indian. I have found several messages on message boards that indicate there was a John Rhoades who was a full blooded Indian but can't find the connection. I also have a connection to the Mo. Rhoads' Thomas Rhoads, son of John Elizabeth, married a Lucinda West. In Lucinda's will she gave 1/3 of her share of property she owned in Adair Co. Mo. to one of her sons. If any of this rings a bell I would appreciate hearing from you. I have loads of info. on the Rhoads' of Indiana to exchange.
