I am Butch's son Billy. We have probably met. I was at all the funerals that you mentioned. Grandpa Herman died when I was a boy but I remember him well. He used to give me a piece of butterscotch candy every day when I came over to sit with him. I have some old video of him. We lived next door and I remember spending alot of time with him I've been trying to research the Rhude side of the family but haven't had much luck. Haven't gotten past grandpa hermans parents. I'm somewhat confused on grandma Martha's side. She used to tell me that her mom was Cherokee Indian but I haven't found any trace of it yet. So good to meet family on here. I love my family so much and I miss them dearly

Uncle Herman (my mom and I were there when He passed) and Aunt Martha (last time I seen her was in '99. My husband and I were trucking. We seen her, Peggy and her husband, James, and Marcie) had 13kids from what I know. My Aunt Martha referred to them as a "Baker's Dozen." The boy's names are/were: Robin, Randy Paul (He's my age), Mike, Danny(passed), Terry, Butch(passed). The girls are/were: Marcie, Peggy, Donna Kay (passed; my mom and I were there. As a child I followed her like a puppy.), Nancy, Shirley, Sue, and Ruth Ann. Do I know you? Who's your parents? This yr while driving thru IN., I called Mike and Lynette and left a msg, but they didn't call back.

Your grandmother was my adoptive mom's (Pauline Rhude Brosch) sister-in-law. Herman Rhude was my A-mom's brother. Martha L Shumake was sister to Herman and Pauline. Bunny (Diane) was Martha Shumake's daughter. She would be 72yrs old now. I'm so sorry for your loss. I loved my Aunt Martha very much. She was the best aunt anyone could have. She was so good, loving, and kind to me. She understood me when no one else could or would.

If you are the daughter of Martha Shumake I have a question: Did your mother, Martha R. ever tell you about a little boy named (Harvey)? Martha Shumake, a teenager and Harvey's mother, Martha Thornhill were friends. Martha T. and her son, Harvey (age 4 or 5) were at Eva Rhude's house in about 1939 or 1940. Martha T. gave her 4 yr.s old son to a couple from Benton Co., IN. supposeately at Rhude's home. Martha (Rhude) was a teenager at the time, so Martha would know about this. The couple from Benton Co. adopted that boy after keeping him for a couple years. Please let me know what you know about this. If you are "Bunny" could I have your email address? Thanks,

Also Martha R. gave birth to a baby girl who she called "Bunny". This also happened about around that time.

Sorry, I said that wrong. Birdie was my husband's grandmother. Birdie's sister, Eva Sipe Rhude was his great aunt. Russ, (my husband)and his parents, the Arbuckle's used to visit Aunt Eva in Indpls. The Arbuckle's lived in Newton and Benton counties in IN.
I have some of the Sipe family history.
Is Bunny still living? Does she have an email address?
Thanks

Maybe, it's me, but I'm confused by your post. It says Birdie was your husband's aunt and your husband is the grandson of Birdie. And, he is the great nephew of Eva and Norman Rhude.
Could you please clarify that for me, thanks.

Hi Bill, my adopted mom, Pauline, could have been your grandpa, Herman's sister. If so, I think there were like 9 siblings in the family. I can only remember, beside your grandpa and my mom; Martha, Lila, Oma or Omi, Marie, and "Dude". All are gone. The last sibling to pass on was a brother. But, I can no longer remember his name.
Just wondering, are you Bill Jr., do you have a sister? Is your mom's name maybe Teresa?
My Uncle Herman was married to Aunt Martha, whom I dearly loved.
The last time I was with the Rhude family was way back in 1978. I'm from CA., living in NM, now.

Charles Norman Rhude Jr

I married Charles Norman Rhude Jr Live Oak, Suwannee County, Florida 1975. His Father's Name was Charles Norman Rhude Sr. I can't recall his Mother's name but she was very short and possibly had diabetes, also was a notary. He had a younger Brother who was married prior to Charles Jr and lived on his parents land. Both families lived in a fenced in yard with two trailers. Charles Sr. had been in the war and had a metal plate in his forehead.

Charles Norman Rhude Jr. joined the Army and was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC for Basic Training, he had his AiT in Ft. Sills. OK for Persian Missles and left for Germany sometime in May or June of 1975. Charles Jr was born Feb. 8, 1953 we were about 6 years apart in age.

I found a death info stating that a Charles Norman Rhude died Nov 2, 2007 at Eagle Lake, Polk County?, Florida. What I am looking for or asking help for is someone that may have access to a newspaper clipping on his death/accident or obituary in that county or Swuannee county or Live Oak Florida. I need to know if this is the Charles i had married. I am looking for names of parents or brother etc. It is really hurting not knowing. Any help would ease my mind. He would have been 54 years old.If it is him would like to know why he died.
