I read with interest this genealogy of the Riblet family. I have found myself related to the Riblet line and I have come to a dilemma. Your genealogy has Abraham born in 1771 then serving in the Revolutionary War in 1776. How can that be? I have a pension record of an Abraham Riblet born in "1753 or 1758 in Lancaster Pennsylvania, and voluteered there in the fall of 1776..." It states "there is no data on file as to his family." This Abraham Riblet applied for his pension on April 15, 1818, "at which time he was a resident of Dauphin County Pennsylvania. In 1820 he was a resident of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania."

How does this set of facts reconcile with the set of facts that you have? Were there two Abraham Riblets? The one born in 1771 could not have been in the Revolutionary War in 1776 and was still living and collecting his pension in 1820. I sure would like to have this resolved.

Thank

I am looking for a William M. Riblet born 3-14-1862, he died 11-11-1932. He married Abbigail Bran of North East, Pa. Their children were Earl B. b.8-21-1885 d.5-10-1965, David W. b. 11-19-1889 d.11-10-1943, Ray R. b.1890, and Abbigail b. 6-8-1893, d.6-4-1964. The book "2750 Riblet Descendents" (I can't recall the author but will get that next visit) shows this line going back to John the progenitors of the Erie Riblets. I'v e seen other lines where this particular William is identified as William David Riblet b.3-14-1862 d. 11-9-1932. I don't know what resources the other line used. If you need a look up at the library let me know. Ted Robinson III My e-mail address is twrobinsoniii@aol.com.
