I have dicovered a list of French Huguenots that fled to Jersey, C.I. The name Jean Ricard appears, but no date. I have traced the Ricards to the region of Langquedoc, France. Also, just a note about the name Mathurin. Taken from the St. Brelade parish records, the name is spelled with "th" in it, as above. This spelling is most definately French. If anyone has or finds a copy of the book "A Jersey Album" by George Croad, it is suppose to have the lineage of the Ricards. I have yet to find a copy. It is out of print.
