CANFIELD, OH – Vincent S. Riccardo, 76, peacefully passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
He was born March 8, 1936, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of the late Giacomo and Stephanina (Litto) Riccardo.
He was the faithful husband of Patricia O’Neill Riccardo, whom he married Feb. 23, 1963, at St. Patrick’s Church.
At his side as he left was his family, wife Patricia (O’Neill) Riccardo of Canfield; daughter Stephanie (Richard) Havrilla of Canfield; son Vincent Riccardo (Colleen) of Canfield, son James (Jill) Riccardo of Calcutta, and son Stephen Riccardo of Youngstown, Ohio; sister Toni Riccardo of Canfield, OH; and eight grandchildren, Vincent, Rachel, Ricky, Jenna, Leah, A.J., Nina and Jace.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Stuba; and brother Martin Riccardo.
To him, family meant putting your arm around each other and being there; that was this great man’s wish, and ultimately, his legacy. He leaves with neither enemy nor regret.
A 1954 graduate of South High School, he served his country as a U.S. Marine Reserve. He was employed as a union painter and was a lifetime member of Local 476 and the Sons of Italy.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, following Cleveland sports teams, and most importantly, attending his grandchildren’s various school and sporting events.
Vincent’s family would like to thank all of his medical caretakers during his illness, including the Cleveland Clinic Palliative Care floor team, the staff at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio
Calling hours will be at the Fabrizio Funeral Home, 619 East Indianola Ave. in Youngstown on Sunday, May 6, from 4 to 7 p.m.
