My great grandfather was born in 1903 in Carbon Hill, IL and was a coal miner as well. He was one for 4 kids (Eva, Emma, James, and Bert) in the family. Their father's name was Louis Ricci (b.1864 Italy). The children and wife eventually all moved to WI. Not sure if there is connection.
