Hi, Dawn,

I would love to have copies of any pictures! I may have a couple for you, too. I found a collection of Isabel Ridall information at the Chenango Valley Museum in Elmira, NY so ordered copies of some things. Most of it was her effort at getting various of her family lines' genealogy. There was a page with William Ridall and Sarah (Mitchell) Ridall as individual photos, also one of five generations of Mitchells going back to Samuel Mitchell (Sarah's father).

Samuel was found living in New Jersey with another daughter. He must have come here, too, so there must be other of his children around as well, but I had no luck yet in finding any more.

My hard drive gave up the ghost a couple of months ago. While many things were backed up, some were not so I am still behind in getting things back and reentering into FTM as well as adding new stuff.

Not sure if you are still tracking the Ridall ancestry. It is a very unusual name even in England and I have only found it pronounced correctly in the US. My great grandfather was called Percival Ridall though died when I was quite young so I only have very sketchy details and I left the UK 20 years ago. He lived in Grimsby Lincolnshire which is not that far from Connesby so pretty sure he would have been from the same blood. Interesting to see that there is now a book available on the Ridall Name, think I may get it as I am quite interested in the family tree.

I tried emailing you (and Tom) directly with some other Ridall information, but don't know if you got the email or not. Sarah Anna Ridell, daughter of William and Sarah Mitchell Ridall, was my great great grandmother so I would be happy to share and exchange information with you any time. I have just tonight found some marriage information for some Ridalls including: William and Sarah Mitchell with the date you have from Marriages at North Collingham 1571-1837, Volume 8; Robert Ridall (probably William's brother) and Mary Turner 5/13/1830 at Marriages at South Collingham 1558-1837, Volume 4. These are both from Nottinghamshire: - Register of Marriages, 1561-1837.
From Nottinghamshire: - Register of Marriages, 1754-1837, we have: John Ridall and Sarah Turner 1/2/1806 Marriages at Newark 1754-1837, Volume 7 and finally, Robert Ridall and Margaret Wilson 8/29/1793 Marriages at Newark 1754-1837, Volume 6. Again a guess right now, but John and this Robert may be brothers.

I have several photos of paul Ridall who graduated from Hahnemann College of Homeopathic medicine in Philadelphia.
The 1930 PA census shows him to be a doctor of homeopathy in Philadelphia. Does anyone know this man?

My grandmother's name was Minnie Lizzie Ridall. Her mother was Josephine Rebecca Feihert. Minnie was born 1882/84 in either Wisconsin or MO., I think her father may have been born in KS. If anyone has information please email me. amya@kentgypsum.com

Hi Nancy,
The info I have is:Robert Ridall and Margaret Wilson had a child William Dob Oct 23,1808 and was married to Sarah Mitchell in Collingham,Nottingham, England, June 16th 1828.
They had 12 children of whom, one was William Ridall Jr. DOB:Feb. 28, 1834 and another Sarah Ridall DOB: Feb. 28 1834. I am not sure if they are related somehow. Do you have more names? Maybe I can go backward from more current names. Also try emailing Tom at (glad@jps.net) He is a Ridall relative also and seems to have a lot of info. He works on names through (rootsweb.com) Let me know if i can help more or what you find out. If this is the same Ridalls I have pictures I got from my Grandfather. I need to make copies for Tom also.

Dawn-I have to contact you simply because of the name. My previous searches had always turned up nothing and I just discovered your query. My gr-grandmother was Sarah Ridall b. 1839, who came from Nottinghamshire, Eng into New York then on to PA in Luzerne Co. Her father was William Ridall b. 1807, mother was Elizabeth Robinson. William was son of William Ridall and I do not have wife's name. I have siblings names and birthdates and info that her father was an only child. Could we be talking about the same William? Nancy
