HELP? I a researching my (Husbands) family of RIDD's.

I don't have much information, so here goes ...

What I DEFINATELY know is that his Great grandmother was Alice Maud RIDD. She was born in Merthyr Tydfil/Aberdare in 1876. Her father was William RIDD, born c: 1847 in South Molton, Devon. William had a Brother John RIDD, and William was lodging with his brother on the 1881 in Cardiff.

On the 1871 Census, William and John were living with their Mother, Jane RIDD, in East Street, Private House. William was then 24 and a House painter, there were other siblings Lucy, Eli and Janes Sister in law Ann Avery (who was 57 and a Pauper)

On the 1861 census, they were still in the Private House, and all the family remained the same other than another Son, Robert, who was 9 years old on the 1861 return.

At this point I have still to find the father fo any of these children, or a Marriage entry that would fit in with the dates etc etc ...

The confusing dates then change and on the 1851 census, jane, along wit Thomas, William, mary John and George are the only RIDD's but the ages put them about 9 years out ??

If anyone has any leads on this family I really would love to hear from you ..... Incidentally, Alice Maud Ridd (b 1876) married George Thomas manfield in Cardiff in 1899. I have their family.

Thanks in advance
