As some of you who have read my previous messages may realize I have been busy researching some of my Riddick ancestors. During the course of corresponding with several of you via this website, I realized that some of the information I've gathered may contain information that although not pertinent to the branch I'm researching, may hold valuable clues for others, especially other African-American Riddicks who are trying to trace the lineage of their ancestors. I feel the information should be shared with others. As times permits, I will post some of my findings for other Riddick researchers. The following is the last will and testament of Micajah Riddick Sr. of Gates County North Carolina:

"I,tem I give unto my son Micajah Riddick one negro boy Jacob to him and his heirs and assigns, I'tem I give unto my son Robert Riddick one negro boy Ben and one girl Letty and their increase to him and his heirs assigns forever. I'tem I give unto my son Jethro Riddick one negro man Bob and one garl Annechey and their increase to him his heirs or assigns forever. I'tem I give unto my son David Riddick the mannor plantation whereon I now live and all the land thereunto belonging also one negro woman Phillis and her children Bet and Solomon, and one negro boy Sam and their increase, one feather bed and furniture his choice after my deceased and all my cuper tules, to him his heirs and assigns forever. I'tem I lend unto Aaron Pearce during his natural life one negro woman Rachel and her four children Amey, Philis, Ben and Subiner and their increase, and after his death to be equally divided amongst my Grandchildren (to wit) Riddick Pearce, Nancy Pearce, Micajah Pearce, Jane Pearce, Robert Pearce and Elizabeth Pearce to them and their heirs or assigns forever. I'tem I give unto my daughter Jane Felton two negro grals, Chloe and Sarah and their increase to her and her heris or assigns forever. I'tem I give unto my daughter Ann Morgan two negro garls Agathy and Liddy and their increase to her and her heirs or assigns forever. I'tem I give unto my daughter Ruth Riddick two negroe garls Perciller and Hanner and their increase to her and her heirs or assigns forever. I'tem I give all the remainder of my estate of every kind to be equally divided amongst all my children (to wit) Micajah Riddick, Robert Riddick, Jethro Riddick, David Riddick, Jane Felton, Ann Morgan, Ruth Riddick also my daughter Elizabeth Pearce deceased to have her equal share and for that to be equally divided amongst her children Riddick Pearce, Nancy Pearce, Micajah Pearce, Jane Pearce, Robert Pearce, and Elizabeth Pearce to them their heirs or assigns forever. I do appoint my two sons Micajah Riddick and David Riddick executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Micajah Riddick SR have to this my last will and testament, set my hand and seal, this day and year above written."
