Hi there I have been doing good. I got my CDL and am out the road driving across the states. I have been doing this for about a year now. I just wonder why I did not do this sooner. I now that dad would be happy for me. I now that I really like it out on the road, and pretty good at it. I will keep in touch. I do not get home much but I do at least have my computer to stay in touch with everyone.

I wouldn't expect you to travel. that is a great distance. I normally get back about once a year. Never lived there, but been there many a time when younger. Glad to have found a connection to donna's earlier years. That was very thoughtful of you and donna to think of your friends so they could go out.

We married July 9th 1955 and was divorced in May 1958. My name is Donald G. Likes. I am 72 years (young). My cancer is in remission now and has been for 4 years now. Of course I only have 1 lung but doing great for an old man. I really don't think I can make it to where you live. If you are every up this way we can meet and do some talking if you would like. We had a mutual friend (Betty Lois). They were still in school at Simp. 10th grade. Betty's boy friends car broke down so Adonnia and blind dated so Betty and her friend could go out. As far as our marriage went we were both just to young and couldn't adjust to family life.

So what would your name be? I knew donna was married to a Montgomery, but never knew him. Several years between donna and me. I live in bowling green, Joyce and wanda still live in Simpsonville and Stanley lives in bardstown. Malcolm jr passed away in 1988 and Dad passed away in 1992. I'm sorry to hear about your health. May I ask how long you and donna were married and how you met?

Adonnia and I divorced before any children. Adonnia married a Montgomery so I heard and they had one child. My mother lived across the road from the Old Masons Home in Webmont Sub. and was later a resident of the Home. My mother and Mrs. Ried were great friends even after we parted company. Mom new Adonnia was in the home just before she passed away. I kept saying I was going to see her but never did.
Do you live in or around Shelby Co. I live in Anderson Co. If you live close I can meet you some where. I can't travel very far due to a bout with cancer and I am on oxygen now.

This is Aunt Debbie, amazing finding you here. How have you been? Not had the greatest luck on the Ried side, got most of my info from Uncle Jeff years ago. Did find lots on the Thompson name. (which if memory serves me, was on papa ried's mom's side) been a while since I have searched, most of my info is packed up. But if need more I can track it down. Good to hear from you. Please get back w/me and maybe we can keep in touch.

I am donna youngest sister, actually half sister, but i didn't think of her as a half sister. I am from Malcolm Sr's second marriage. Am i to assume you may be Vivian's dad??? Both Malcolm Sr (my dad) and Mary Agnes Adler (Mrs. Ried at the time) are now deceased. Also none of dad's sibling are alive any longer. Uncle Jeff was the last to pass away in 2006. I remember dad talking about living on Webb lane. If I remember the house was a big house on the right if coming from US 60. Been out that road several times.

I was married to Adonnia Ried back in the middle 1950's. She was the oldest child of Malcomb Ried. She had two Bro.'s
& two Sis.'s Joyce, Stanley, Malcomb, & Wanda. At the time we were married, Mr. and Mrs. Ried lived on Webb Lane west of Simpsonville. I hope this help's you some. I will have to get my memory to going now. I can remember Mr. Ried's Bro.'s and Sister. Cain't remember much about his parents. Maby we can get together and talk about this. I am still wondering how you are connected to the family.

I am looking for information on William James Ried born in Ireland in 1896/98 he came to Scotland when he was 14. He worked in the coal mines and then at Baird and Scottish Steel Works in Gartsherrie, Coatbridge He commited bigamy and eventually was married to Isabella Kennedy they had 5 children Isabella, William, James, Rachael and Jeannie who died aged 13. Looking for information on John Rydson that may have went by the name Ried. He was born around 1836 and may have immigrated over from Flisbysmoland, Sweden in 1876. He married Anna Lind born 1840 and died 1919 maybe around Stark, Nebraska. Their son was Charles Rydson that married Nellie Johnson. They had a girl that was named Maysil that married John Gahan. Thier son, (my grandfather), was named Donald Joseph Gahan that married Jean Margaret VerHoef.

I am looking for any relatives of Stanley M Ried and his wife Ethel Gertrude Hamilton Ried. I do not know when they married. I believe they were originally from Bath Co.Ky,, not for sure though. Their children were Everett, Opal, Malcolm, Wilbur, Louis, and Robert. The only child living now is Wilbur Jeff Ried. My dad was Malcolm Ried and I know he was borned in Bath co. He later married Mary Agnes Adler. They had 5 children...Ladonna, Joyce, Stanley, Malcolm Jr, and Wanda. I know my grandfather Stanley M Ried died 9/18/1960, and my grandmother Gertrude died 1/22/1957. I do not know their birthdays, and I do not know their parents. I only know Gertrude Hamilton's mother was called Little Maw Hamilton. Stanley, Gertrude, Louis and Robert are all buried in Shelbyville Cemetary. My dad Malcolm Sr. is buried in Simpsonville Cemetary. Any info further beyond my grandparents would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.......Debbie
