John Riiser may be your grandfather's brother and my great-grandfather. I would be so grateful if this is true and can fill in the blanks.
I talked to my 81 year old aunt this afternoon and she knew of an Aunt Thora, an Aunt Inga and an Uncle Roy who was an opthamologist. She said as a little girl he came up to the family farm in Aniwa, where the Riisers had moved from Chicago, and she thought he was rich because he was wearing a large ring. She doesn't know of any other brothers though. She also said that the family story is that John's mother was a cook/maid in the king's palace and would bring John to the palace to play with the king's son.
John's birth, death and residence in Cook Ill. are the same as recorded within your family's. He married a Gustava Gulbranson (b. 1867) from Dramman, Norway. They had 4 living children: Arthur, Gunvor, Rudolph and Dorothy. Gunvor is my pat. grandmother and she and George Thorpe had 3 children: Janet, Mark and Neal. Neal married Kay Dustin and had three children: Lisa (me), Heather and Peter.
I can give you more details if this is a match and you are interested. I hope to hear from you and confirm our possibly mutual line. Thank you!
