She was born in Rise, Aabenraa, Denmark on Feb. 21, 1854. Her parents were Niels Riisgaard and Anna Hansdatter Lund. She married Jens Madsen Lund and had 9 children. Anna and Jens emigrated to the USA in 1902 and settled in Viborg, South Dakota and then Homesteaded land in Mountrail County, North Dakota (Lunds Valley) and finally settled in Washington State.
