The Rike family you mentioned in North Carolina lived between present-day Burlington and Elon. Some are buried in an abandoned Methodist cemetery, Brown's Chapel, on West Davis Street in Burlington. One grave, for example, is that of Eunice James Rike, who was born July 29, 1795 and died August 8, 1862. Prior to 1870 Alfred James Rike and his wife Susan moved to Buncombe County, North Carolina and I believe they were the last of that name in this area.
