My mom is a Riles from Augusta, GA. I know I have family in Atlanta, Ft Lauderdale, Miami, and Texas. I also no that my great grandparents were from Louisiana.

My Estranged Riles Family - I am David. I have a half brother Ronald and sister Cynthia. I have been told that I have a younger half sister possibly in Texas area somewhere. Our dad was Walter Riles Jr. He did not have any siblings but he grew up in Missouri area He was born in 1926 and died in 2003. His dad had 2 brothers to my knowledge. One of them was rumored to be named Wilson. That's all I know. I'm in California. The mother of my younger sister was named Alice. I'd like to find her and any general family information

If anyone can help me to connect the dots....it would be most appreciated!

my user name has changed because i changed internet provider. But yes my grandmother brother was named joshua Riles. In 1918 he registered for the draft, and i know he was in the army, because an aunt has a picture of him in his uniform. I will try to get a copy of the picture. He also haD A brother named willis. His father was named willis riles and his mother edie. we dont know what happened to him. do you think i can get some info from military sources. do you have any info on joshua you would like to share. hope to hear from you soon

my father's father was married to a emma riles of st mary la. her mother was a clara riles and her father was a charles riles. charles's father and mom were daniel and eliza riles. all were from st mary la. ALSO clara maiden name was johnson, whose mother name was susan johnson

I am doing a research on my family anme Riles. Anna Riles settled in Walker County (Huntsville) Texas from Virginia.
In 1870 Anna was 40 yeears old and had 6children Mary 11,Mahina 9 Franklin (Dock), Laura 7 Jas (Jim) 2 and another daughter age 2 as well named Anna. Jas would have been my great grandfather. I can find no other info on the rest of Anna's children after the 1870 Census. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Tina , I live in Texas. My ancestors came from Goergia. As best we can determine they came from Causetta, Georgia. They were Rials, Ryals and throughout the 1900's they were Riles.

Tina, from what i have seen on the map, Causetta is near the Alabama line ( Montgomery area). My great grandfather's name was Isaac. He was of mixed race, because he las listed as mulatto on the census rolls. We believe he had other siblings, but he came to Texas. We have no idea whrer they went , their names are anything. The name of Causette was put on the tombstone. There was a family, surname White that I think traveled with them to Texas. They were also mulatto. My great grandmother was a White, Theressie was her given name. Isaac's children all born in Georgia were: Jennie, Lucy, Jasper, Harvey,Isaac and Rebecca. I misspelled Cusseta. This is the correct spelling. Let me know if any of those names are familiar to your grandmother. Deralyn

I am an African American Riles whose ancestors came from Georgia. My information leads to Cusetta, GA. I will ilke some history of your family. My great grandfather was Isaac Riles, he moved from Georgia to Texas between 1860 and1870. I believe he left Georgia at the Emancipation and came to Texas.

I don't have the information with me I am on vacation but my John Riles was American Indian and spoke 5 Indian languages he married my Aunt in the 1920's or there about. They had a daughter, My Aunt died shortly after. There daughter was "called" Izella the spelling I don't know...what her real name was this was in OK and California.. If it is the same John Riles I would be intrested in what happened to him and my cousin who was needless to say quite a bit older than me my e-mail is Bpettard@aol.com

Joseph Riles is my great grandfather (born approx 1841). I presume that he was born in Lancashire since all the information I have found on him thus far has been in Lancs. He married Margaret Carter (born approx. 1837 in Lancs). Family lore says that he changed his name and, if so, we think it was probably at the time of his marriage. Can't find birth or marriage records in BMD for either Joseph or Margaret. The emigrated to the US (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) in 1880. Please contact me if you have any ideas on where I might find information on these two.

I am looking for information on my grandfather. He was from Brooklyn, New York. His name was John Riles and he was in the Navy. He had to be down in the Long Beach shipyards in the end of 1943 because my dad was born August of 44. He never met him, and I am not even sure if John knew of my father. My grandma's name was Julia. Just in case anyone ever heard of stories from a John talking about a Julia. I'm pretty sure he may be deceased now, but he might have had children, grand children, namesake, etc.THANKS!

I just saw the obit on Susan Riles you sent. This was my wife's grandmother. One thing that was puzzling was that she was married to William Lewis Campbell who d. Mar. 8, 1913. I am a Riles as well, my immediate family originate from the Birmingham/Bessemer Ala area where there are a bunch of Riles', you may want to concentrate on that area, my dads name is Cecil, his father is William Riles, I believe he has a sister by the name of Betsy Mae

I have a lot of information about the Ryals families in Florida, but don't believe they ever spelled their name "Riles". However, the census takers in Georgia either skipped or misspelled the Ryals name when Daniel C. Ryals was living there. E-mail me if you want, maybe I can give you more info.
