Family of George W. MORRIS and Rachel Anne RINEHART (Greene Co., PA)

Seeking information on the family of Simon RINEHART and Rebecca MONTGOMERY who probably lived for a time in Greene Co., PA.
Simon and Rebecca are supposedly the parents of Rachel Anne Rinehart (1863-1940) who married George W. MORRIS (1865-1932) and had four surviving children: Sarah Rebecca (1887-1911); Jesse Robert (1894-1964); Minerva Evelyn (1896-1916); and Joseph Franklin (1900-1966). I have been able to identify George W. and Sarah Rebecca in the census for 1870—1930, but I can not identify Simon Rinehart and Rebecca Montgomery as the parents of Rachel Anne Rinehart.

Are Simon Rinehart and Rebecca Montgomery the parents of Rachel Anne Rinehart?
What are the birth and death dates and places of Simon and Rebecca?
Willing to share information.

Bill Muller
muller1938@yahoo.com

Hi. My name is Libby, and Catherine is my great great great grandmother. Her father was David O Rinehart and her mother was Rachel Warnick. However, there is a discrepancy about their birth dates and places. But if you would like their pictures, feel free to contact me so that you can look at my tree. But remember, not all information that we have about Catherine's parents are 100% accurate, Feel free to explore.

My great grandfather, Alfred Artilis Bailey, was raised as a grandson of Alfred and Pennelope Rhinehart. The 1900 Census shows him to actually be the Grand Nephew to Alfred and Pennelope, despite being listed as Alfred Rhinehart. After reading your post I now have a new possible link because I never knew Pennelope's maiden name might be McAllister.

I have random unconfirmed info that Alfred A Bailey's mother, Catherine Musselman (wife of Charles Hickman Bailey, confirmed) is the daughter of Lucy R. McCallister and Thomas Musselman. If you or anyone else could possibly help me close the gap between Lucy McCallister and Pennelope McAllister I would greatly appreciate it as I've been researching this for several months online with limited success.

So, we got cut off. When George and Olive were orphaned, they went to live with sorta mean Aunt Rose. However, there was this Dr. Davis who, we think, who knew George Rinehart (we think it was spelled either Reinhart, or Reinhardt, you choose) before they entered Ellis Island. He provided big bucks for them, but somehow this money was manipulated and lost. My dad lied his way into the War 1 at 17, and ended up in the wrong lines at the end of the war in France. I have a picture of him, please write back if ewes be kin to me, eh?

Hey, there, probably a relative,
So, my name is Mary Rinehart, daughter of George Davis Rinehart, born in 11*04*1895 in Pittsburg, orphin of George Rinehart and Rose O'Hanlon. We think his dad, George worked for General Electric and either died from electrocuition or from one of those new non-horse drawn carriages. His mom, Rosemary, apparently died soon after of a broken heart. (Probly stress, eh?) My dad died when I was three weeks old, and info from this side is sketchy. He worked for Ferro Mfg. in the 30's in Mt. Pleasant, MI. was in WW1. He and his older sister Olive (Aunt Obbie) were adopted by a Dr. Davis, to wit the George Davis Rinehart.

Dear Ann, Regarding Stanley M Rinehart. You will find a nice writeup about him and his wife in "Rineharts in America" p. G17. His father is William, son of David, son of Frederick, son of Ulrich who immigrated. I don't know how Stanley's mother is as William had 4 wifes. On the 1880 census he is listed as a step-son to Mrs. William R.and on the 1870 census he is 3 years old and the mother was Margaret. William's first wife was Mary Ann Ing.
Hope this helps.
Marilyn Goates

For years I have gathered data on every Civil War soldier from York and Adams counties. Since making that post what seems like eons ago, I have published a book on Robert's regiment. It is entitled From Home Guards to Heroes: The 87th Pennsylvania and its Civil War Community, available at any book store and online at sites such as Amazon.com. (shameless plug, isn't it?) I have since found more data on Robert as follows:

Rinehart, Robert John, Pvt Co D, 87th Pa Inf; enlisted Aug 31, 1861; mustered Sep 19, 1861; received a scalp wound in the left temple June 1, 1864, at Cold Harbor; discharged Oct 13, 1864; a farmer from Shrewsbury, York County; had dark hair; born Dec 19, 1841, the son of John & Mary Ann Rinehart but listed his brother Alexander as next of kin; other sibling: Savilla; married Diana Baublitz; children (partial list): Frank, Charles, George, John, and Robert Jr.; died Apr 28, 1930; buried in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Shrewsbury, York County, Pennsylvania

If you can add to this, I would appreciate it. It will be among nearly 11,000 soldiers whose data will eventually appear on the York County Heritage Trust web site.
