I have discovered a curious anomaly in my family history. We have always thought my great grandfather's (Lee from Indiana) surname was Ringler, but on various census reports, he and two of his brothers (George and James, aka. Johnny from New Mexico) went by the surname of Ringling. Lee was born abt. 1885 and died about 1925. He is thought to be from Goshen, Indiana and married Freda Mears. His descendants went by Ringler, but this possible Ringling connection is quite interesting to me. Any ideas or leads would be greatly appreciated.
