Hi!
Is this my 2nd cousin, Cylinda Annette Booth who lives in Missouri? If so, who are the Rinks you mentioned in your question? Grandpa Brewer's grandmother was a Rink, and her son, James Rink, was in the U.S. civil war for a few years. Didn't know anything about the Rink(s) you are asking about and the Oklahoma connection. Are they from Tom's family tree?

Have not been able to find any information on them. Robert married Rebecca B. Krauss in 1854, they had three children, Thomas Robert, Christianna and Francis Harvey Rink (my ggrandfather). They were born in Rising Sun, Maryland. I believe that Rebecca died in 1867, I am waiting to hear from the National Archives for Roberts pension. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Think you are off the other line of Rink's. My line is a Hessian Soldier born in Wickenrode, Germany and came to America in 1776 and deserted in Charleston S.C. and ended up in Lincoln Co. N.C. He is the only member of his family that came to America, I have been to Germany and have the family back to 1600. I know another Rink line came into Indiana about 1850 or so. But they are not related to my line. I am sorry to say don't think you are off my line due to the fact of where your ggrandfather was born.
Thanks for contacting me anyway. There was another lady doing that line of Rink's but I have lost touch with her. Her name is Tony.
Hello all,
First off I have no relation to the Rink family. During the 1960's and '70s my grandmother owned an antique shop in Spring Valley NY. She accuired most of her pieces in NY, NJ and eastern PA. Her specialty was 19th and early 20th century glass. So... I have a paperweight that's been in my family since she had her shop that contains the name Jacob Rink. I had no idea who Jacob was so a Google search and I found this thread. I learned what I wanted and figured I'd share this with you. For those of you who are interested it can be viewed here: http://teaganm.cademo.com/images/other/jacobrink.jpg
Regards,
Steve

I am looking for any information on John Rink and Rachel Kumm of Benton Township, Factoryville, Pennsylvania. John was the son of John M. Rink & Catherine Long both born in Germany. I know very little about them. They are found in the Scranton City Directory for Lackwanna County, PA in 1861 and later appear in the US Census for Factoryville, Lackawanna County, PA. their son, John Rink was born on June 14, 1855 and died on May 30, 1908 in Benton Twp, Factoryville, PA. He married Rachel Kumm who was born on December 28, 1855 in Berlin, Germany and died in September 28, 1917 in Benton Twp, Factoryville, PA. Any information on the Kumm family would be appreciated. I know nothing of Rachel's ancestry or immigration here to the US. Any information on John's parents or ancestry would also be appreciated. thanks.

Jacob Rink was born June 26, 1868 in PA. He was the child of Geo W Rink and Sophia (according it my Grandmother it was pronounced Sof- eye-a). The 1880 Census lists Jacob's occupation as a file cutter. Geo W was born 1838 in PA. During the Civil war he served in PA's 82nd infantry Regiment. He enlisted August 29, 1861. He deserted on April 15, 1863 at Falmouth, VA. The census shows that Sophia was born in 1848 in Ireland (my grandmother always told me Sophia was from Wales?).

Jacob's sister Sallie (Sarah Ann in the census) was born in 1874 in Camden, NJ. She was my great-grandmother. I know that Sallie was a Christian Scientist and died around 1914. Sallie married John C. Seeburger and had two children Sophia Elizabeth Seeburger (my grandmother) born 1907, died 2000, and Dorothy- born around 1910 and died around 1912.

Please email me any info you have on the Rinks, keaw26@yahoo.com. Thanks- Kea

I know what you mean about the lack of information on the Rinks. I have been working on this family for over 20 years, and have little more than what my father could tell me before he died. I have spoken to a couple of people who knew a few of my Rinks. Their impression was that they were very aloof and kept to themselves. My father knew little about his cousins, yet lived in the same area as they did for many years. My Jacob was born abt. 1843, came from Prussia, settled in Fonda, NY where he died. He had 10 children, three of whom were sons, who had a couple of kids, but few males, so are hard to trace. Even buriels of this family are hard to find, and to think that it has been less than 100 years. I wish you the best of luck in your search.

Hello!

Nelson Jacob Rink was my Great-Grandmother's brother. Sallie Rink Seeburger (great-grandmother) was a Christian Scientist who died in 1914 when my Grandmother was 7. The following is information my Grandmother gave me before her death.

Sallie, Nelson, George, and Walter Rink were the children of Sophia and ??? from Wales. George married someone named Mary and they had 3 children: John, Mary, and Eunice?. She also told me that George was the blacksheep of the family and eventually ran off to join the circus. Both Walter and Nelson were married with kids, but that was all she knew. Sallie Rink married John Seeburger and they had one child, Sophia Elizabeth.

Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Kea Walker
BradyChild@aol.com

My Jacob Rink was born in 1828 in Gemany and married Margaretha Mehler. Jacob had seven children with her and died May 1879 in Baltimore. I believe he lived in Baltimore from the time they arrived in the states. Any help would be wonderful! Thanks.
