Hi Melinda.
Thanks for the great information. I am sure these are the same people that I am looking for even though some of the dates are different - but then I don't know where I got my information (that was before I learned about sourcing my info). Was your William Brenner's mother Martha Elisabeth Steinberg? Do you have any other information you could give me, ie Emma's parents, birth and death dates/places, marriage place and date, spouses of the children, info on Emma and William's grandchildren, etc. If not, could you refer me to someone? William was my 2nd cousin twice removed. Thanks a lot for your help. If you want to e mail me my address is KKJANDSS@aol.com subject: Rinkenberger/Brenner or something to that effect.

Rinkenberger Group on Yahoo Update Information

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rnknbrgr/

This group has been formed to assist Rinkenbergers (Ringenberg/Rinkenberg/Rinckenberg/Renkenberger) from all over the world find their ancestors. This branch of the family had its roots along the Rhine River on either side of the present day Germany/France/Netherlands/Switzerland. Some towns and villages where this family originated from were: Erlenbach, Vierwinden (Danne-et-Quatre-Vents), Pfalsburg, Rhodes, Niederschlettenbach, and Barbelstein (Berwartstein). This includes areas such as Lorraine, Baden, Palentines, and Allsace Regions.

A particular emphasis is placed on Peter Rinkenberger I. He was born in Hingsange,France on the commune of Linstrof, Moselle, France around 1786. Peter married Anna Schrag on January 13, 1810 in the commmune of Haute Clocher, France. Peter immigrated to America in 1831 landing in Lancaster Pa. He later settled in 1837 near Farmdale,Illinois located close to Peoria. A recent look into Peter (Pierre) Rinkenberger's records indicate that he may have changed his name upon Marriage to Anna Schroque (Schrock) and also when settling in America to a final name of Rinkenberger. The Americans all went by Rinkenberger after Peter the 1st. Extensive research on the Rinkenberger Family has been done with a Rinkenberger Book Published in 1949 with an update in 1975. Some other Rinkenberger's have updated their family lineage a few years ago including the decendants of John F. Rinkenberger.

Other names related to Rinkenberger: Zimmerman, Funk, King, Gramm, Kahle,Kaeb, Miller, Henline, Stucky,Albrecht, Zehr, Anderson, Jentz, Lampe, Kiefer, Schippert, Feller, Stoller, Guingrich, Tully, Kaeb, Rathburn, Baker, Rapp, Beckwith, Mitchell, Kaupp, Brenner, Schrock, Kuerth, Roth, Stock, Pfister,Meyer, Embry, Beer, Greiner,Kempf, Waibel, Witzig, Gerber, Lampe, Jorge, Burkey, Guither, Stuckey, Tedrow, Johnson, Kilgore, Jessup, Zastrow, Potter, Hochstettler, Shelander,& Martin.

He was the only child of William, son of Abraham, son of Peter the immigrant. You are right that we are all over the world.
