I hope you are still doing Rion family Ancestry? I have resumed my Quest, however, I am also reaching a dead end. Do you know of a Theodore Rion in NY, he was born 1923 in Poughkepsie, lived in the Kingston area.

You have a very nice and informitive posting. I spoke to Charles years ago when I was doing some family researching. I was inquiring about my fathe who was born in Poughkepsie, NY. and later lived in Margretville when I was born. In 1958, I believe he lived for a time with some other family members in Kingston. I do not have info on Rions but this was the only way I saw of contacting you in reguards to Higdon in your family tree. You list a Matilda Catherine Higdon, daughter of John & Luvina Higdon. I am a Rion also from James Herman & Norman June Rion. James' father & mother were James Melton & Addie Scholes Rion, they had a set of twin girls who died close to birth or at birth, Eldon, Charles, James, Margaret, and another daughter, who I never remember meeting. By the way, this Rion Clan is out of Humphreys County, Tennessee. James Melton Rion's mother was Elizabeth Bumpass and has brothers that were from Ireland. Thanks for your reply, I know families do not keep in touch. They have a hard time even staying together? I'm sure there is some family relations, I have about given up. I'm sure my father is either dead or close to it. He was a real drinker.

Not sure If he is related or not but, My father John Rion was born in same area in 1926. I 'll ask him if he know a Teddy Rion maybe cousion or brother. His side of family not ones for keeping in touch.

Have had no contact with any Rion's in the Kingston area. Rt. 28 on the mountain. Most likely the old man does not want any contact he may well be dead by now. He was born in 1923, 80 years old.

Hi. Sorry for the delay. Just got back from visiting relatives in Florida. I know a great deal about Dorothy (my great-aunt) Barlow, but really nothing about her actual connection to the Rions. "Aunt Betty" helped raise my dad after his mother died in 1918 when she was only 21 & his father left & moved out west. I have a few photos of Theodore (never heard him referred to as "TED") when he was a teenager. My dad died in 1973 when I was only 21, so I never really asked him much about his family, so I don't really know much about Ted. Dorothy later married Herbert Wayman & had a son, Donald, and later married Frank Kenzler. She died in 1961. Let me know if you want more info or copies of photos. Mary Ellen

This is all very new to me! I haven't known much about my fathers side of the family. My mother and father separated when I was five. My mother never spoke of my father. I would love to meet you or any other relatives, I would also like to see any pictures of my father or relatives!

Hi - Sorry. My email has been giving me a lot of trouble lately. My dad, Richard Barlow, grew up with his aunt, Dorothy and, of course, her son, Theodore. I have photos of Theodore as a teenager, but really know very little about him. Did Dorothy ever marry his father? Is Theodore still alive? Someone emailed me that he had been killed in an electrical shock or something. I expect to be going to Florida next week, so if you don't hear anything back right away, that's why. Mary Ellen

Yes, Yes, Yes... My father was born in Poughkepsie. I believe I have an aunt Betty? I was born in Margretsville. My father was in the Navy, WWII. His father originally would not let him join so as the story goes he enlisted in the Army? He also lived with some relatives? charles, James maybe there first cousins? They live in Kingston area, on top of some mountain? I spoke to one a number of years ago.

I believe my ggrandfather Jeremiah Pierre Rion is the same person as Pierre Jeremie in your husband's ancestry. Jeremiah's mother was Marguerita and his father was Baptiste. He married Elisabeth, maiden unknown, lived in St. Francois Co. MO. He also had a sister, Susan. He was born in Switzerland, but immigrated from Havre France in 1850. Jeremiah and Elisabeth had three daughters: Mary Mathilde (my grandmother) who married Christopher Wiegenstein, Nora and Rosa. Would love to trade information with you.

My ggrandfather was Jeremiah Pierre Rion. Jeremiah married Elisabeth ? and they had three daughters: Mary Mathilde, Nora, and Rosa. Mary Mathilde who married Christopher Wiegenstein was my grandmother. They lived in Madison Co. and St. Francois Co. Missouri. Does any of this help? I am trying to find out Elisabeth's maiden name. She was born in Kentucky.

This person had information on the father of Elisha Rion, whos wife was Sevilla Manley. Elisha was orphaned and raised by the Manley's and Daniels. They were originally from Calloway/Marshall Co, KY in the 1830's and moved to Johnson County, IL in the 1840's. If anyone else has any information that would be great as well.
