Death certificate info is not always accurate. It depends on the knowledge of the person who provides the info.
According to the Riopel database, Alexandre was the s/o Joseph Riopel and Catherine Lauzon who married 23 Feb 1846 L'Assumption, Quebec.
Chris

I don't know if I contacted you before this. I am the great grandaughter of Alexander Riopel and Marie Elise Dupont. I am trying to find out who Alexander's parents were. Alexander was born in Redford/Clinton New York in 1861. He died in Three Rivers Massachusetts on July 29 1925. I have a copy of his death certificate which states the his father was joseph Riopelle and his mother was Catherine Daniels. Are these names you are familiar with. You can reach me at elainedemers@verizon.net

Thank you for your time, elaine

I know that church -- it is the parish in which I grew up. I tried to gain access to records about 2 years ago, but they won't let me see any (say it is Church policy).... has anyone else encountered this problem?
