Hi,
I'm Chris Ann (Widish) McClure.

I am a granddaughter of Isabel and Anthony. My father, James, is the second youngest child in the family. He is in his 70's now.

There were nine children in all. Would anyone be interested in having more information about Isabel's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren?

I can confirm birthdate in Manistee MI as my grandmother often told me stories of the past. Our family was there the day she passed away in October 1981, just after I graduated from Marine Corps boot camp.

Anthony and Isabel lived in West Allis near Orchard and 72nd St. They sent their children to Catholic school and Isabel was very industrious...worked at the school to help pay tuition, and they rented rooms out to bring in money. My father had to take a trolley to (Catholic) HS.

In 1940, Anthony took a settlement from Allis Chalmers where he worked as a machinist in about 1940 and bought a farm out in Dousman. My father stayed home and helped farm and did not marry until age 32.

I was nine months old when Grandpa passed away. They tell me I used to laugh and giggle when he played his fiddle.

Isabel had to learn German to go to school in Milwaukee, she never told me how long she had to do that. It was pretty widespread, my maternal grandfather likewise showed me his primer for gradeschool. All in German, and in the old script.

She lived with us for many years before moving to nursing home in Wauwautosa (St Ann's Little Sisters of the Poor) on 92nd St. She lived until her oldest grandchild (from son James Allan, born 4/19/30)

Her mother Maggie was born in County Cork Ireland. My father remembers stories of his grandfather fighting for the Kaiser.

I will contact my father as I want to be completely accurate about his siblings and post more as I receive the information.

Isabel and Anthony Widish moved to farm in Ottawa Township, Outside the village of Dousman during 1940

Son James Allan Widish (b. 4/19/30)
married Darlene Ann Zimmerman (b. 3/18/41) in Oct 1962
