Surnames: RISLEY and BEAVENS
Louisa A. RISLEY b. in Wilmington, North Carolina, m. 15 March 1870 in Houston, Harris County, Texas to Christopher Columbus BEAVENS. Children: Risley (M), Massie (M), Conway (M) and Emily (F).
Christopher Columbus BEAVENS served in the military of the Confederate States of America.
He enlisted 7 June 1861 at New Orleans, Louisiana. He served in Company A, American Rifles; Afterwards known as Company G 7th Louisiana Regiment, Hayes Louisiana Brigade.
He served in Infantry as private, promoted to Color Bearer at Gettysburg 2 July 1863 and promoted again to rank of Lieutenant upon return of flag to regiment after having been captured at Battle of Wilderness in 1864.
I have not been successful in finding Louisa A. RISLEY before the 1880 US Census in Harris County, Houston, Texas nor Christopher C. BEAVENS in Pennsylvania. He is listed in New Orleans, Louisiana in the US Census of 1860 as a Wheel Wright. He is listed in Houston, Texas in the US Census of 1880 stating his state of birth as Pennsylvania. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
