Facts i have 1881 census James was living in port Glasgow as a slater, son Alfred wasn't living with him. then found Alfred living at rope yard rails London in 1891 says he was born Glasgow possible port Glasgow. Alfred married Jessie chambers 1892 on marriage cert he's father James Ritchie occupation slater.
